I'm afraid I wrote an answer that has fuck all to do with the subject at hand so let me try again after the hidden text:
I know in some places this is more of an actual thing but I've always seen it as an internet celebration so I honestly don't think too much about it, in here the actual big LGBT+ celebration is in some other date I always forget so not much attention is payed to the international june one. Is kinda like how the local equivalent of april fools are also in a different date so whenever I see the internet doing it's thing I consider it an internet celebration, not a real life one.
I get where you're coming from taking into consideration just how much pushback and hostility can be generated by the whole "pride month" thing, and I can see why both sides get angry since the whole conversation tends to resemble a shout match more than a civil discussion. The sheer aggressiveness of the "love" side can feel as overwhelming as the outright hate coming from the other side. But I also get why people want to celebrate and be in-your-face about it, sometimes that sorta is the only way to normalize queerness in the eyes of society at large, and also there's nothing wrong about being loud here in the internet since it's not like anyone is gonna get actually hurt (I hope). In real life meat-space outside the outernet tho, not really feeling like telling random strangers that I'm not quite straight, I value my ability to "pass" and not having to deal with any of the associated bullshit.
I think I did a better job at expressing whatever the heck I was thinking about the second time, not fully satisfied with it but it'll have to do cos I've writing this crap for too long and I'm just going in circles, it's pass midnight after all.
