Just a quick question, why SteamTrades button was removed from SteamGifts?
Or is it there somewhere and I just can't find it?

Because there is no forum on Steamtrades and people asked about their trades here. No one could answer on their questions here and it just created a lot of confusion for users.

Why use SteamTrades, when there are far better tools like Barter or LesTrades?

ST only provides text lists of what people have and want. Matching what you want & have with what other people want & have is basically limited to one game at a time. You may get tired of getting messages like "Anything here for your game X?" when they have absolutely nothing on your wish list. ST might be more useful for people who don't strictly trade games, like people who trade games for gems or TF2 keys, and if you don't then expect to get the occasional key offer for games.

Barter (and presumably LesTrades which was made when Barter dev went away for a while), although its not pretty looking, has:

  • Auto wishlist & library syncs

  • Trader matching system that can match you with traders on multiple games

  • Notifications of offers & accepted offers via feed, email, or Discord

  • Ability to track your list of tradeable games and tag them in many ways

  • Manual game blacklist/ignore sync with Steam

  • Each game's supply & demand on the site

  • Details of each game's price, reviews, region locks, number of trading cards, if there are achievements, mass giveaways, etc

  • Which bundle-type deals every game has been in - Thanks to their editor Lilly, aka sensualshakti, who also makes SG's Deals posts and croud sources relevant info

  • User or editor sourced warnings such as region restrictions, beta keys, store delisting or bannings, key revocations, etc

  • More meaningful stats on traders than just + or - on ST

On top of all listed, Barter (& LesTrades) compares:

  • adding games from text lists / CSV
  • adding games based on bundles
  • showing your & traders wishlist items, items in the library & items that trader has but are not in your library
  • lots of great stats for each users
  • links to ST, STEAM profiles & other connections
  • links for each game & DLC to each site & evaluation site like "is there any deal"
  • easy to navigate web page & not so stressful for CPU or network
    etc.

Personally have trade there sthg like 600 items. 😎
