So what do you think? Would like to have something like this one day?

There was a hidden giveaway here. It's over now.

You could nitpick from a tech angle, but the idea is cool, and it's well made. Humans are pretty obsesive creatures.

If you wanna talk gamification, this talk is obligatory.

Some aspects of it are cool, and probably gonna come in the foreseeable future, but ending is kinda "shocking". LOL'd at the "restart level" cucumber part x_x
Also, if there were achievements for stuff like that and daily chores, I guess I wouldn't be such a lazy SOB ^^;

The girl is so goddamn hot ;_; I have a... specific taste, don't judge me.

It looks really interesting.I guess in a couple of decades this could become reality but who knows...

It's probably something everyone would have (hence the guy ordering things through a holo panel on the diner table), but I don't think I would enjoy using it. I can barely stand android/apple/whatever-the-fuck cellphones with their gimmicky things and whatnot.

Call me crazy, but I'm not all that excited about this kind of tech and not just because of the Orwellian aspects suggested at the end. I love games and tech, but I also like being able to easily unplug and get away from it for a while. It's one of the reasons I still prefer a desktop over the ever-increasing list of more mobile computing options.

Thank you for the link, Fet.

No.

The more technology becomes pervasive in your life, the more we become enslaved by it.

The giant leap from household phones to mobile phones already caused a forced social phenomenon to occur where I live. If you don't answer your cellphone or reply to an SMS after an hour then you're judged as being uncaring or antisocial. The cellphone granted us the freedom to talk to anyone almost anywhere but, at the same time, it forced us to bring it always with us.

The social networking has contributed to this as well, forcing us to routinely check our profile in order to keep track of birthdays, events, messages, wall-posts, etc.

Enhanced reality seems to be another great leap in the same direction: in order to "see" it you'll need a mobile app for it, then special glasses, then futuristic contacts or even implants. You'll need to always have it with you and won't be able to leave home without it: A new social lifestyle will shape up.

From this point of view I almost view technology, our own creation, as a living entity that is slowly grabbing more and more of our vital space: A symbiosis that is slowly becoming parasitic to the point where we might end up being a vessel in which technology lives through.

No, I personally wouldn't like to have something like this one day. Let technology simplify our life, not take over it.

Well, the ending doesn't make it look very promising. :P
Even if that little... "exploit" wasn't there, then I still wouldn't take it. Unless I go blind, I'm NOT letting anyone touch my eyes(or brain), EVER!

You remind me of Togusa, he doesn't like augmentation too.

That's a really nice video, but I don't think I'd trust something like that...

It mirrors some things Deus Ex: Human Revolution is exploring as well. You get 10 xp for nice cucumber slice!? I'm in!

There was an episode of Extra Credits about gamification and later on special case of gamyfing education. I like that show :D

Ehh and also what Zero Punctuation said in review of Deus Ex: HR - people are already augmenting themselves with technology maybe you are not an amputee that gets an mechatronic limb but there are cellphones etc. I think this stuff will happen sooner or later and people will embrace it like Facebook, Google and whatnot. You should be kinda scared of what those companies know about you ;) People will happily get gamyfied like this I tell you. You may end up hating your grandchildren of what they have become but to them you'll be an old fart, take that!

Just found this special trailer of Human Revolution. If you don't know GIS, check this opening of this 1995 film.
And talk about remade trailer, I like this one too. xD

Awesome short film, thanks Fet! But I don't think that's the future of human, gaming should not mess up with real life, slice cucumbers for XP and dating only for achievements? That's just some numbers you'll soon get boring. :P
