Steam community market question

When I go to sell something I always see that people randomly buy items at way higher prices than what the item is worth(a 0.03 dollar item for 100 bucks). What is the the reasoning behind this? None of my items are ever bought at such high amounts.

Yah I guess that makes sense. It just seems like it happens for every item I look at.
