Dragon Age Franchise is on sale. 90% off, which is the all time low for these games. Dragon Age: Origins is great and highly recommended, especially at that price. I would pick it up if I didn't own one already. Dragon Age 2 is a pass for me. Dragon Age: Inquisition - maybe, but $5.50 canadian still feels too high. Maybe when it's 95% off.

Which Dragon Age would you pick up, if any?

Dragon Age II: Ultimate Edition
Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition
Dragon Age™ Inquisition

Well, technically you can click on the games on the vote section to go to their steam page. But I guess it might not be as obvious.

I kinda knew it's possible but I've always been stubborn and just went to the launcher and typed the game lol. I like the hard way around it.

Hey guys, do I need an EA account to play on Steam?

Not for DA:O, as far as I know. The other ones I don't know.

I saw several threads on DAII Steam forum about people complaining about not being able to log in to EA and thus play the game or authorize the DLCs.

Only missed DA II, picked it up. Thanks

DA2 may be -90% but the price jumped x2 in 2022 so it's also 2x HL now. So I'm not buying. :-P

Inquisition is HL, though.

This is because it used to be a standard edition, and now an ultimate edition. Here is an old edition. https://steamdb.info/bundle/15543/

That's fine and all, but some recent reviews say that it's not the ultimate edition as the DLCs are missing.

I bought this today and I have all the DLC. This package https://steamdb.info/sub/714428/
Person with the review has the status “item received for free”. Maybe he activated the standart edition with the key.

Ok, I believe you, but this one also bought it on Steam: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198131048867/recommended/1238040/
Maybe they messed it up in some regions (it happened with some other games). I guess I could try and then refund if anything is off.
Then again, do I want to take my chances with a game that requires the EA app?

I looked the discussions, some people write about problems with DLC, that they show as unauthorized and everything is a mess in EA. Maybe these people with reviews have a similar situation. I'll try to install it myself and see.

Yes, everything seems to be in place. It's sad that people have problems.

Were you able to install and play the game and the DLCs without issues?

Yes. In my case there were no problems. At least everything is visible in the downloadable materials menu. I don't know how long you need to complete the game to get to the DLC materials.

Thanks for the info. I believe in DAII all the DLC quests are separate from the main game and can be started after finishing the introductory quests and reaching Kirkwall, although I don't remember level requirements, if any.

I do have the Origin in EAapp but not with the DLCs. If I buy it on steam can I connect my EA account to have the dlc on there as well? Last time I checked steam version did not have the 4gb patch ea version had

Already have the complete versions of all three, some of them multiple times over. I'd be tempted to buy Inquisition on Steam because trying to get the EA app to work on Linux (or anything, really) can be a pain in the ass, but the Steam version still requires it, so there's really no point.

While DA2 has a very good story, it's getting quickly overshadowed by the amount of copy paste locations

I wish EA hadn't messed up the versions on Origin. I got DA2 there from the old Humble Origin Bundle 2, but they never gave me the DLC, so now the only option I can find is to buy the damn game again just to get them.

All of their giveaways stopped working the minute they moved to the EA App. :(

My copies of DA: Origins and ME2 -did- get the free DLC upgrades (I owned them on Steam), but since I got this on the Humble Origin... no luck there.

But thank you.

DA:O lists Steam Family Sharing support. Anyone confirm it is actually the case?

It doesn't have EA Launcher. But it does have EA account login. I'm a bit fuzzy about details but it was probably optional.

The login stopped working and is disabled, if you try to log in it just says "this isn't an option anymore."

Dragon Age Origins: Best game in the series.
Dragon Age 2: Meh.
Dragon Age Inquisition: A tad less meh, but still meh.

Oh thank god, I was able to start the game. It did show unauthorized at first for the dlc. But I just logged in with my EA account and that word is gone from the dlc page in game.

I didn't own Inquisition on Steam and no longer use my PSN account, so this was an easy decision since I've been wanting to get another playthrough in.
