Can we do something about duplicate giveaways ?

IMO what would be even better would be to be able to delete a giveaway without losing a slot if it is deleted within a minute from its creation.
Not only it would help with duplicates, but also if you messed up something in the settings (ending date, making it public instead of private, forgetting the level requirement, ...)

Id say a great solution be that if a second giveaway is made for a game you already made one for, yoy be given a notification saying "oh, we see you already have a giveaway for thus title, would you like to add a/these extra copies to the existing giveaway, or was thus made on accident?". Or something like that.

only click once when making the giveaway, the better solution is to buy a second key for your unexpected winner rather than removing the giveaway to save your slots. I have have had not this issue but i do see your point and frustrations

If I remember correctly, a safeguard was put in when the site underwent a revamp a few months ago. It can still happen if you spam click the create ga button though. If anything, you could always ask for more slots or just more giveaways to recoup them.

I had this happen in my very first giveaway. I'm lucky I noticed it; I don't have the money to buy another key, so I would have gotten dinged on my reputation.

Just be patient.
not that hard... never had that problem, but my surf speed is fast, so that could be it

wouldn't a unique id generated/assigned to the giveaway creation prevent this? so you can't create a giveaway with same unique id.

so even if the form data was resent either by fast clicking or refreshing or lag, it would only create one giveaway.

Like I said , i'm not the first person who got in this problem , and it's not the first topic about this .

I am not mad about loosing giveaway slots , this was just a reminder that the problem is still active .
Maybe the owner of steamgifts can look for a solution when he will have time .
