Stupid question, but I hope you can help me.
If I enter a giveaway for a game which hasn't finished yet, and in the meantime I decide to buy the game, would I still be taking part of the giveaway even though I got the game now?

You would need to manually take yourself out.

Well this very inconvenient, especially because I plan to buy a lot of games now during the summer sale and I would have to go through everyone of them individually, but thank you for your answer.

Buy them as gifts and wait for the giveaways to end, if you win you have a spare gift copy, if not you still have the game.

This would be an alternative solution, the only bad part is I would have to wait many hours or even days to finally know if I can redeem the game or not.

That's a shitty move. If the creator checks and see's you've got it in your inventory a blacklist will definitely happen.

Go to https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaways/entered and type in the title of game & remove. It's a lot faster.

Thank you, this makes things definitely faster. Though it would be a nice feature for SteamGifts to automatically remove your entry from games you owned after buying/synchronizing.

If there's a free weekend for a game, you'd be removed from every giveaway for that game and be unable to enter them again

Maybe you know, maybe you don't but ima mention it anyway :P
On the home page at the left side there's an option to show you your "entered" giveaways. It's handy for cases like these.

Edit: I got ninja'd as usually. Damn, people are fast!

Go to "GA entered" and with ctrl+F you search the title you bought, then exit all of them. It's not superfast but it shouldn't take more than a minute per title.

the list of GA entered is only 2-4 pages. If there are multiple game to be removed, it'd probably be faster to scan through them

sure. My GAentered is normally like 0.75 to 1.5 pages, but I still do it that method just to be sure, of course it's more time consuming, but I don't care losing those seconds.
