Need to login to Steam to Join a group, however to be able to instant trade during the Holiday event I enabled Steam Mobile Auth. I was glad for it because some of my friends who were not using it were getting their trades declined so the other person didn't have to wait the 3 days for the Holiday cards to trade. This is the first time it bit me because I have been using the throw away codes to activate outside of my home and forgot to generate a new list.

You can, but then all your subsequent trades are placed on hold for 72 hours.

It's not so bad, you can use the code it gives to generate a sheet of 30 codes, then when the codes run out you have to do it again. It's annoying but not that bad. As Zomby said, if I went back to email I would have 3 day trade holds with strangers and 24 hours with friends.

Thanks for the offer but I managed to snag one when I got home. Surprised there were any left after 3 hours.
