I've played Dear Esther, and I really got into like smaller, artistic (indie) games.

Braid, the art in that game is beautiful.
This. Also, LIMBO.
Machinarium is great. Point and click puzzle or w/e it called P:
Also Osmos is interesting
Both games are really great. :)
Aquaria, BIT.TRIP RUNNER, Blackwell games, Cave Story+, Machinarium, Toki Tori, VVVVVV.
Aquaria is really nice game.
Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP
Though, in my personal opinion, its writing is the weakest element of this game.
Ones I haven't tried but am looking forward to:
Heavy Rain (PS3 only)
The Stanley Parable (Half-life 2 mod)
Triptych (Crysis mod)
To The Moon (as stated in other threads, it's coming to steam, YAY)
Nikopol (have it, need to play it)
I also know the Myst series is generally recommended when people ask for games like Dear Esther
Also, I loved Dear Esther too, amazing game (or whatever you want to call it). Never felt like I was actually in the gameworld before, all the atmospheric details really did a good job of doing that
Oh man I've been wanting to play Heavy Rain for so long now. But sadly no console :<
to the moon comind to steam :)
I played Heavy Rain, and I loved it :D
I totally agree with you about Dear Esther.
Also I'm gonna try the games above :)
The Stanley Parable is awesome.
This is fairly interesting and very very (extremely) short
Bit.Trip series, LIMBO, Eufloria, Braid. There should be more.
But I don't know what you mean by "artistic" (and I don't know Dear Esther). Some of the recommendations (Blackwell, Machinarium, Nikopol, Osmos, Braid) I would not consider more or less "artistic" than any other random game.
Games, that aren't just about playing. Games, that makes you think, that have something more inside.
BTW I've heard about The Path, I just couldn't remember the name. Thanks, though.
The Last Express, but i doubt you could find it legaly.
It's available at GOG.
Oh, ok than my mistake.
Trauma sounds the most interesting. Gonna try it.
lol trauma is the worst in here. try limbo and bastion, awesome games
Trauma is not as bad as people make it look like, BUT I found it quite boring and headache inducing. Navigating between the screens is even worse than in Myst and you never really know just where you are.
I have played Eufloria, Limbo, Night Sky, Osmos, Machinarium and Samorost from this list and this games are very good in my opionion.
I also want to test Bastion, Braid and Trine. :)
I wanna be the guy free to download
I wanna be the guy
Zeno Clash of course.
I really must get around to playing this some time. Bought it around Christmas, but I have yet to even install it. :/
I'll dare to say Duke Nukem Forever :P
You know what I mean.
Yume Nikki is very artistic and bizarre to the point of being worth some time. Not incredibly playable, but it's worth taking a look.
Another artistically bizarre game that I like is Eternal Darkness, but that's for the Gamecube.
the cat and the coup
tells arab history the best way and amazing arts in it too
Try Terraria it is like 2d minecraft and also a good game)
I'd say Trine. Was not dissapointed when bought it on sale, and co-op is very fun thing to do. Myself prefer original Trine over Trine 2.
Mass Effect 3. The guys that made it have plenty of artistic integrity.
