Is Valve right for making Summer cards dropped from ctafting badges untradable?
I think it's horseshit, but then again what any of us thinks matters not a bit to Valve :D

We seem to share the same opinion almost always! ^_^ Glad you agree!

Does that make a difference? I had to buy 2 cards to craft a badge. But I thought only the cards were untradeable/unmarketable not what the badges crafted from them drop?

So even booster packs and stuff crafted from thoee cards will be locked if they were made with Sacks of Gems bought on the market? Jeez Gaben really goes out of his way to make sure he is the only one getting anything out of the whole Steam thing!

if you use cards that are amrketable - you got marketable results. if you use 7-day locked cards you got 7-day locked results. It'ds been like this for a long while already to prevent market flipping. I believe it's a horseshit, but it is nothing new.

That makes sense, thanks. Still sounds really stupid to me. This shouldn't apply to crafting badges with them as well, as stuff that drops from a badge is mostly really cheap anyhow. At least trading should be permitted.
I guess I didn't realize this before as I haven't traded anything that drops from crafting I a while now. I thought the 7 days restraint was only for things bought from the market, not "Everything related to them, or dropped by crafting badges."

I wonder why they don't disable it for the event cards, so many people crafted thousands of badges from them during the last sale that leaving the restriction on is no doubt cutting down on how much they craft. Valve works in strange ways :D

They were around 0.20 before the sale started however (while they were mystery cards)

like i said - valve did it mainly to prevent market flipping ;p let's say some game has backgrounds with almost-naked anime girls - ppl would buy cards to craft badges to get those expensive backgrounds for resell. Same goes with booster-crafting - create booster that contains cards currently more expensive than gem cost, sell cards, buy more gems, rinse and repeat.

It matters if you bought cards recently or had them saved for awhile. sold a bunch without any problems, but about 10 only become sellable on the 18th. So if you only just recently crafted i can imagine they it won't be sellable until after the sale is over, if you crafted badges first day then atleast you have a few days to do something with them, although they wouldn't be the same price as on day 1.

So I just noticed that the Monster trading cards dropped from crafting badges are not trade-able until the sale ends (when they will disappear anyhow!?) Is this the case with the ones we get from buying games too (10 $)?
Do you guys think this is fair? I mean what are we supposed to do with them if we don't have enough cards (or have most duplicates) to craft a next level badge?
I understand making them unmarketable (because of people exploiting the prices and gaining profit) but untradeable, that's a sh*t move imo.
