For those who don't know , GamrRank is like the facebook of gamers that is in beta(not for long) .
It's really sad that they opened independently this site for gamers and had some innovative ideeas .
I've received this email from the GamrRank newsletter.

Dear GamrRank members, this is a sad letter to write, but may not come as much of a surprise to you.

GamrRank will be shutting its doors within the next three days (by September 15, 2013).

There are a number of reasons for this, and we wanted to share them with you.

We started GamrRank because we felt there was a desire from the gaming community to have a console, developer and publisher-independent service that combined what you play with what you talk about. We wanted a service that defined your gaming reputation. A service where you could create your own achievements and challenges for others, whether it was on social, mobile or console.

At the end of the day, GamrRank succeeded in some of this. We're happy to see some of the things we were trying in GamrRank (achievements across games, sharing to social etc.) are now going to be a major part of the next console generation. We wanted a convergence of games across the worlds of console, mobile and social. Well, it's all happening now and we couldn't be more excited.

Unfortunately, all this spells the end for GamrRank in its present form. We believe that some day, GamrRank or something like GamrRank will rise. Today is not the day.

The second reason is a result of changes in the team and a changing focus on the team. GamrRank was born from an experiment at Empire Avenue Inc. Empire Avenue uses a virtual currency based on your social online engagement

to trade access to other people's networks and knowledge. Ultimately Empire Avenue took on more of a focus as it continued to grow successfully and as a result, we want to turn our attention fully toward one single product, and our choice is decidedly Empire Avenue.

In this past year, though, after working on GamrRank, some of our team went on to create Hungry Moose Games

. Just last month, Hungry Moose Games released its first game

. "9 Lives" is an Android (and soon to be iOS) game designed for individual mobile devices, as well as "on-the-couch" play with controllers like Green Throttle

.

We wish we could keep GamrRank going, but without more human resources, we would not be able to continue giving you a service that works.

We want to thank each and everyone one of you. GamrRank was fun. We enjoyed meeting many of you. We enjoyed your support, and we enjoyed sharing our love of games and gaming with you. We hope you all remember and talk about Medals and Challenges that we created.

Finally, I'd like to thank everyone who caused GamrRank to be. I salute you:

Ric Williams, Craig Miller, Tom Ohle, Michael Grills, Michael Mannion, Niall Brown, Narsa Chelluri, Rich McGonigle, Locke Vincent, Todd Derechey, Aaron K. White, Shane Davis, Chip Blundell, Mathieu Pacaud and those who we met at E3 2012, by phone or otherwise.

I hope to see you either on Empire Avenue

(empireavenue.com

) or at Hungry Moose Games

(hungrymoosegames.com

). And of course, we will see you on social media, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Twitch and beyond.

We will remove access to GamrRank.com within the next three days.

We will delete any tokens issued on behalf of GamrRank through your social media accounts, you do not need to do anything. Following this email, within 2 weeks we will remove all e-mail addresses and user data. We will keep some data in backups for legal purposes. Data gathered about your gaming through private or public streams will be deleted over the next couple of weeks. We cannot export any of this data. If you would like to take screenshots of your GamrRank and copy any of your data, please do so within the next three days.
