I also have a Steam gift for Contraption Maker that is region locked without a region tag (the red warning text). I have no idea what region it is so I can't even trade it lol

Unless you already have the game in your library, you can try to activate it first.
Then it will have message warning that you can or cannot activate it, assuming it still have the tag and the region locked area.
But in my case, Medieval Engineers don't have it, but still can't activate.

I don't have the game in my lib, and when I activate it it just says it's not allowed in my region. It doesn't say anything about what is the actual region the gift is restricted to.

I saw an Medieval Engineers gift that had no warning whatsoever, but WAS actually locked. Couldn't be activated.

After new currency additions Steam added wrapper region locks to gifts (along traditional subid locks) that have been bought from countries that have 'regional price discounts'. This can be confirmed at the time of purchasing a gift where it says "This gift can only be redeemed...". If you experience this warning for your other gift purchases that means your gifts are locked even if key activated. If you do NOT see this warning at all, it is a glitch that everyone is talking about with no restrictions.

It seems I got myself one of these games (Age of Mythology) with no warning at all that seems to be region locked, at least is what the person I traded it to said to me. I refunded him, and now I have no idea which region it is locked for.
Is there any way of checking it? At least I could create a giveaway for that region.

I already searched the topics about this in SG, it seems that it doesn't have the info.
I have 2 region locked gift in particular, one is Frozen Synapse Prime, which I acquire from Humble Bundle by activating the game then it will appear as a giftable copy, only it just region-locked where user activated it.
The other one is Medieval Engineers, I bought from one trader which unpack from 4-pack was already have region-locked tag, but not specified, so still can be activated outside.
Previously both have tag " Only can activated on some countries", or something like that, since now the tag for both games already missing.
Question is, how can I check if particular game(s) have region-locked or not, since the tag is missing?
Can we check from inventory directly and see the code?
