I was too sleepy to work on my bachelor's thesis so I decided to do my own skin for Steam.

The style can be found here and it looks like this (with discovery queue, curators and bottom recommendations hidden).

Feedback is appreciated and you're allowed to fork this as long as you credit me. I'm thinking about adding color scheme options so please post what colors you'd like to see.

This is only for browser, right?

Unfortunately yes. To be able to change the style in the client, you'd need to inject JavaScript into the client's browser and load the css through it.

Would hiding .home_rightcol.recommended (the 'Recommended for you' thingy) bring up the Daily Deal column? It irks me to no end that you have to scroll in order to see the daily deal now. (

The daily deal column is in a different <div> parent element so just hiding the recommended for you column doesn't do anything. However, I moved it "manually" with margins and you can now install a version of the style that replaces the recommended for you column with the daily deal column. A JavaScript swap would have been more suitable.

No whining in this thread. That site is pretty pointless anyway because you should find a curator, whose recommendations match your individual taste, and not some popular one, whose taste in games might be entirely different from yours.

While I like the new UI and the curator feature, I wish Valve made them optional. There's plenty of people that dislike both.
