I remembered I loved playing Nitrome games, Fireboy and Watergirl, and other Miniclip and .io games. Man, those were my childhood.

I was super obsessed with point and click games as a child. Anyone remember Daymare Town?

Yeeeees dude! All of this developer's games were super cool to play. Some of them weren't as good as the others (too confusing) but many were super fun.

After playing the heck out of Sunless Sea and thinking I loved lots of text and dark stories, it made me want to try out their earlier browser game which takes place in the same universe, Fallen London.. I tried it for a week, but I just couldn't get in into the story. It didn't feel like my actions had as much consequence as in Sunless Sea. On the other hand I've played a lot of great flash games on Armor Games.

I did the same thing. Sadly, Fallen London is just not meant to be played as F2P, the wait time for your candle to recharge is atrocious. Which is a shame because Sunless Sea is a lot of fun and the lore surrounding it is quite interesting.

Very true that wait time just took you out of the immersion. And there wasn't really any urgency in the game since you didn't really have to deal with survival. I'm glad they were at least able to take their writing to their future games.

Oh I never knew :( . I think I got lucky, because I never bothered to create an account. Never needed to save my progress on any games.

Speaking of which; I really loved to have played Castleville; a sort of a medieval comedy-take on Farmville. It's a shame it shut down. I never gave them any money when they were up; figuring that eventually they'd create a single player experience for the game since so many people liked it but never "loved it". But it just went away, which is a shame.

I've played a couple over the years, though not currently playing any right now. Some that I've enjoyed include:

Kingdom of Loathing - Turn based RPG, the writing is hilarious. I still log in from time to time to see what's new.
Vampires! A Dark Alleyway - Drink humans blood, attack & steal from other vampires. Pretty simple, but I played this a lot back in the day.
Newgrounds Used to play all kinds of flash games on here. Don't have flash anymore tho
Realm of the Mad God - pretty cool shoot em up, rather hard
Slither - You're a snake, eat smaller snakes, don't get eaten...

I think I played my way through nearly every rpg game on FreeOnlineGames.com between 2010 and 2012, unfortunately the site has kinda changed with its user interface and is now a site that constantly generates spam/scam popups.
Loved newgrounds, bumarcade and miniclip.
Thin Ice and the other one where you climb the mountain with the grappling hook, me and my dad played those so much.
I think I also played on a site called Zume? Zuma? Zumba.. idk... Was most puzzle games and included fucking sick games like Bejeweled and Bookworm. Found it, it's Zylom.

back in the day i spent a lot of time at armorgames. i think that changed around the time i joined steam.
old browser / flash games like closure, knightmare tower and captain forever even made it to steam so that's pretty cool.
i'd rather pay 5 bucks for a flash game i enjoyed 8 years ago than a penny for one of these fucking hentai puzzle piece of shit fake games.

I remember having played a lot of browser games back in the day.
From those cool stick man ones, to the bloons games, to the Age of War, etc.
I played some Age of War recently because of the cool music theme it has. It's really a banger.

I haven't played browser games in long loooong time. (Actually, ever since Jagex discontinued FunOrb and filled RuneScape with microtransactions because Jagex are the worst.)

Motherload immediately comes to mind. I remember it was really fun. ^_^

Also Epic Battle Fantasy 4, a really really good game is available on Kongregate for free in its entirety. (There is also a payed Steam version with bonus non-canon stuff, but you can play the entire main story for free in the browser version.)

I also remember that the browser version of Creeper World was what initially got me into it. (It is much smaller and more of a Demo to the full game though.)

And, of course, can't forget Crush the Castle, aka the game Angry Birds shamelessly ripped off and never acknowledged exists.

Browser games were great back in the day. I spent so much time on games like Runescape and Adventure Quest.

I gradually migrated over to flash game websites like Newgrounds and Kongregate when I got sick of MMOs. I remember really enjoying the Mardek RPG series. I still have a whole bunch of my favourites saved on my computer just in case I feel nostalgic.

Thousands, probably. I primarily played flash games online before getting myself a decent computer and joining Steam. I still regularly play new games that release on Armor Games, but honestly these days none of them meet my expectations. I miss great gems like Coma, Strike Force Heroes/RAZE, Fancy Pants Adventures, Nevermore 1/2/3, and a ton other games that shaped my childhood.
