Have you ever had a refund from Steam back to your original payment source?

NOT STEAM WALLET FUNDS!

Either Paypal or Credit Card should be fine. If so, full refund or did they take any cut?

When I canceled a pre-order a couple years ago, they asked me what I preferred. Idk if that's changed since.

I think it was last year, I got a refund when the cart was acting weird and I ended up buying a bunch of games twice. They offered Wallet or original payment source, though since it was the middle of a sale where I was inevitably going to spend that money again anyway and it was the quicker option I settled for wallet. :)

Just like any other store, they will try their darnest to force you into accepting store credit.
