How the hell have you 'noticed' a lot on steamgifts? There are plenty of women who play videogames, you know. According to Nielsen's statistics:

"Females 25 years of age and older make up the largest block of PC game players accounting for 46.2 percent of all players and 54.6 percent of all game play minutes in December 2008"

I've met more effeminate guys than fake girls in the Steamgifts community. I can only think of one fake girl off the top of my head, and it's not exactly a secret.

I never understood why people lie in general about who they are on the internet. Can think of plenty of people on SteamGifts and I knew quite a few people on WoW who portrayed themselves falsely (including one guy who pretended to be a girl, and a lesbian at that, I guess because they didn't want to deal with all the pervs trying to cyber with him/her)

If so, that's an incredibly stupid and sexist attitude to have that should have gone away in the 90s along with the term "lamer". I'm female, and I'm not lying to get anything out of someone. I just prefer to be referred to as she rather than he.
