That's if you plan, of course... which I imagine most of us don't.

There's so much stuff I want to pick up, but I have no idea how much cash I'll have at the time.

I guess the few things I'm almost certainly picking up are:

  • Portal 2
  • Batman: Arkham City GOTY
  • Quantum Conundrum
  • Star Wars Collection (was out of money when it went on sale last time, sadly)

What about you?

Depends on how good the deals will be, but I try mostly to not spend more than $100.

Yeah, I tried to stay under $100 last year. It really didn't end well for my wallet.

Just depends on the deals last summer sale was not really my taste but the Xmas sale I spent about $180 so if the summer sale is good this year then probably around the $150 mark:)

This. I've given up on planing what to buy and how much to spend since I always end up getting more anyway.

Bitch please,

I use the steam walllet to store my money I'm inteded to use for the sale, that way its way harder to spend more then you want, I'm even spending a few cents less then I wanted to!

Well last summer sale started on last Thursday of June which was 28th, and also all previous summer sales (I think), also started on last Thursday, so yeah, it's probably gonna be the same this year.

Probably 10-15€. I have some games in my backlog and I don't see any of the games I'm interested in getting low enough price.

It depends on the game and the offer. Personally I think I'll spend around 90-100$, maximum.

I have only a few games i REALLY want to get,so I don't think i'll spend that much.
On the winter sale I spent 130 euros, but i got pretty much everything i wanted,I was really really lucky,as all the games I wanted got 75% discount, some even more(amazon super uber bundles)

Wishlist. Depends when the sale is really. If it is mid-August, more than if it were end of June / Early July.

Assuming mid-August: ~£20 maybe £30. Hoping to get a good deal on Borderlands 2, Ridge Racer Unbounded, Oblivion & Morrowind and possibly Dirt 2 and/or Showdown, possibly pick up AoE 2 HD as well. Depending on the sale prices really, TES, Showdown and AoE are the first games to be struck off that list if it comes to picking and choosing.

You can get Arkham City for cheaper on GMG, if you're really looking for the cheapest prices. It goes down to $7.50 as well, occasionally, and coupled with whatever coupon is available, can push it even lower.

Oh, I didn't notice the GOTY version from GMG was Steam-redeemable. Thanks!

I usually don't buy very many games leading up to a Steam seal, and then I go crazy. I'll usually spend $50-$75, can't really say what I'll buy until I see what I want.

I would have happily psid $10 for it. Amazing game

Here's how I look at it: they wanted $20k on Kickstarter, got 10 times as much, and released the same thing they otherwise would have. No stretch goals, no extra content; just three minor patches in all the time it's been out. There's also all the extra sales they got after the release.

They haven't put it on a 75% sale once. It's been 50% at most, and since $5=5€, it gets even worse. Maybe it's just my screwed-up way of thinking, but as amazing the game is, I'm not going to give them any more than 2.5€. So I wait.

What a bunch of ungrateful lowlifes :/ I didn't hear of that fiasco at all. That's the danger of crowdfunding though.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I wouldn't call them that, but considering how they got 180k more than needed in crowdfunding and the game turned out to be a smash hit that sold a lot of copies, I'd have expected at least something extra as a token of gratitude.

I'm looking forward to buying some publisher packs, especially Valve, Sega and Square Enix, so I'll try to have at least 300 euros available by the time the sale starts.
