I couldn't say exactly the progress before without spoiling something, but now that we have a complete solver, I can tell you that 6 people reached the story's end without solving everything. :) And you're one of the two people that managed to solve the secret puzzle.

I haven't tried since then because I wasn't making any progress, I'll go back to it later today and see if I can think of something. But I'm pretty sure the secret place is related to the traffic reports, I just can't figure out how yet either.

I had the same feeling about the traffic report since before reaching the end, but couldn't figure out what to do with it. Now I feel like I'm overthinking it and not able to see what is probably in front of our eyes. ;__;

Instead of doing a normal bump I would like to take this opportunity to tell you all about my inspiration for this event.
To start off, the initial puzzle was meant to be a world wide physical puzzle. I was looking for people in big cities to find me some spots with some sort of graffitti that was not on google street view. To pass the first stage people would have to work together to actually go out to these locations and look it up. It was too grand of a scheme and I knew I would never get enough people to actually go out and look for things, even getting people in big cities, where there was bound to be other SGers, to help me was too hard.
I still had this plan that Nordh had hidden clues all over the place, but I knew I couldn't just say it straight up, so that's why I had some friends help me "find" these clues. Once it started getting some interest I knew it wouldn't be long until someone figured out I was behind it, and that would eventually get the first puzzle solved.
So the whole event is about communication, and how we communicate. What languages we use can be just as important as the content of them. Since Nordh had been abducted, I wanted this to be sort of a gradually increasing one way communication that finally led to a two way communication. So we go from finding messages from an unknown source randomly hidden all over the web to a communication via a radio host to a direct message to... Well, I'm not going to spoil the rest, but people that haven't solved it yet will find themselves partaking in a different resolution than ever seen on SG before. In the end, it's all about communication.
Because of the way the puzzle was introduced, I couldn't set any rules about what was allowed and what wasn't, because "there was no puzzle" to be solved. On top of that, since Nordh couldn't actually talk to anyone and drop hints (being away on a spaceship and all), I wanted the puzzle agents to work together and talk to each other to solve it. That's why I made it a group puzzle. And so far people have not disappointed me. I love the (sometimes evil) hints people have made, without going into spoilers.
Oh, and because it's about communication, I had to include a hidden message somewhere. And I'm not talking about this. ;) Now go find the secret, or bribe one of the 3 (of which only 2 has solved the final puzzle) people that's found it to reveal something else about it. :)

You managed to solve the mystery of the hidden messages and thus this thread has unlocked. First I would like to thank the people that helped me in the first part by posting various messages on my behalf. They weren't allowed to take part in the first bit, as it needed to be a secret who was behind the puzzle. They may from now on participate in the event.
Rules
This event is a group puzzle, you may share any information and help each other get through it. However, you may not post direct links or answers to puzzles. Each person will have to manually go through each step of the way. For example, if I were to hide a link somewhere in this text you can say "He's hidden a link between 'For' and 'example'.", but you cannot share that link yourselves.
Rulebreakers will be blacklisted and banned from the event and reported to SG. Any people already on my blacklist are also banned from the event, since most of them have cheated on my events in the past.
I am using SGTools to keep track of progress throughout the event, and to weed out SG rule breakers.
Puzzle / Story
Nordh is alive! So it seems Nordh has been trying to communicate throughout the ages. But how could he have put the same message in a news paper from the mid 1900s as in recent years? Last time you saw him he pushed you through a portal at the top of the pyramid. This was nearly 6 months ago and you've done some research since. Apparently a UFO had been sighted near a pyramid in Egypt at the same time, and you figured Nordh had something to do with it.
As you sit at your desk researching this new lead, the radio suddenly turns itself on.
