Disc only, but still, best racing game ever. And nostalgic music to boot.

And I found this other stuff at the thrift store as well, but none of that is important.
007 Nightfire
Alien Nations
Axis & Allies
Command & Conquer 3: Tiberian Wars
Mungo: The Only Pirate Left
Myst Masterpiece Edition
Operation Flashpoint: Game of the Year Edition
Port Royale
Spellforce 2 (found to not work)
Tortuga Bay
V Rally 2 (found to not work)

Any other Outrun 2006 owners here? While the online servers are gone, LAN still works in this game, so I might try multiplayer through a tunnel service at some point.

I love 007 nightfire! obviously not the best game there was but the gadgets are really cool (camera lighter, laser shooting watch, loads of other things.)

I dont own it but it did bring up memories of Cruisn USA/World which are my favorite nostalgic racing games, along with GT3 A-spec.

I actually own Cruis'n World on N64, one of my few games for the system. Shame it is a single player game.

By meaning single player you mean local split screen? I think I played it with friends but its been 20 years or so and I cant look it up atm.

Nope. I can't find a hint of multiplayer in World.

Edit - After looking around, I see it should have splitscreen, but I know my copy most certainly has nothing about it. Perhaps some PAL release differences?

Well I know it was released for the arcade first which was obviously single player with the one wheel and all but I'm not even sure it had a multiplayer option. Could be that PAL got the arcade version while NTSC got a version with split screen capability.

You should have a multiplayer option. I know I have used it on my copy and the PAL box shows up to 4 players, too. The arcade version had multiplayer as well.

They really need to make USA, World and Exotica Arcade ports for the Wii U with friend-online. Come to think of it, I never understood why this genre of racer died.

It is a shame. I love arcade racers. The Lotus series and Screamer were a great lot back in the day. Ever played any of those?

Didn't own the iconic Amiga ones but have tried Lotus 3 on DOS.

I had the Mega Drive version myself (titled Lotus 2 RECS). Good times. I was playing that as one of my main racing games until I got a PS2 and started playing the Burnout series.

Outrun 2006 is great. I wish they didn't pull it from Steam though.

Indeed. Had it been available, I would have purchased it there. A pity they removed it after the servers were closed down.

Aw. Well, emulation is always an option, I guess. Some of those games really are worth playing.

I had a (S)NES, I got a PS2 about an year before the launch of PS3, and a PSP about 3 or 4 years back.. I was oblivious to most things for many years :/

Since you have PS2 / PSP, try to find this game. :D

The PS2 / PSP versions use cross linking to get all the cars unfortunately, but still a great game.

007 Nightfire!

Not nearly as good as the PS2 version, but still worth it.

Why do you want the same game(s) on different platforms? o.o

I didn't know I had the PS2 version. Its been years since I've thought about it. I knew I had some 007 games, but The Duel (Mega Drive) and the newer Goldeneye game are the only memorable ones.

What a coincidence, I got this game last week and yeah it's amazing. You can also see some ideas that were eventually used in Sonic and Sega Racing Transformers for their world tour mode.

Didn't know it was available on steam at one point at all! Maybe if we bother Sumo to ask sega to greenlight a remake we may get one lol.

Another release of the game would be epic, but unlikely to happen unfortunately.

If you want, add me and sometime we can try to set up a game online.

Yeah, too bad the xbox release was kinda botched. Sure it was HD and all but it missed so many extras from the PC version :|

Nah, we can't play online, lag on this game would be unbearable with such distance between our countries.

Also I'm surprised that you aren't part of my friend list by now, considering that any random site or forum I go, you're most likely there posting a comment lol.

Never been into racing games, really... So I've never heard of Outrun 2006...

Bit I'm pretty certain I still have Command & Conquer 3: Tiberian Wars and Myst lying around here somewhere... Damn, now that you got me thinking about it, I've never finished Myst... Seemed cool but back then I was very easy to frustrate if I did not know what the game wanted me to do...
