That seems like a terrible idea. What if your winner needs to contact you for a reason like "I won this game twice in the same day, please reroll it"? Unless you're the type who accepts random adds on steam, you're almost certainly going to send them the key before they can get in touch with you. At least with the unread message notification on the site, there's a chance that you see it in time.

That's why there need to be an option to send a private message to the user.

As long as the creator keeps one previous GA unlocked, you've a means of contact.
Could add a timer to the locking as well, so it auto-unlocks after a giveaway has ended [and can't be relocked again].
I'm not necessarily in favor of the OP's idea (though I get where they're coming from), but it's not like there's not workarounds for any issues with the idea.

To be honest, I'm getting a bit tired about all the talk about comments in giveaways. Just open your notifications and hit the "mark as read" when your giveaway has ended. Even better, just leave it with the notification count to 99+. By the look of your profile, you do not actively participate in the forums or any discussions anyways. (In fact, congrats of your first comment!)

I'm not really a fan of people plastering "thanks!" all over the place as if it affects anything. It's annoying and I'd rather not have that show up on my feed.
