I can't see the store page of the game in Steam, I don't know if it's my problem or if the game as been retired.

Anybody knows something?

I still have the key from the Humble Store, and don't know what do with it.

Apparently it is gone, yeah. The key should still be redeemable.

Just checked, not available from the RU/CIS store either.

Very strange, especially given the various mass giveaways for it recently

Maybe CodeMasters tried to give the users a last chance to obtain it.

Like the big discount of Castle of Ilusion.

Makes sense, if they cared for their game I'm sure the last thing they'd want is for it to just disappear, profitz or not.

But their F1 2013 just did that (which is considered best in series)

Very odd, since it's not even that old, and even F1 2010 is still up.

Quite contrary, it's not strange at all.

Mass giveaways were clear sign that games might get removed.

Especially considering that both DIRT 1 and 2 was removed at 'same age'.
GRID lasted surprisingly long tho.

This article is about the GOG version, but i'm guessing it applies to Steam as well. http://www.pcgamer.com/gog-bids-goodbye-to-grid-tomorrow/

they said that those keys were redeemable for a short period of time so your key now is worthless...sorry to bring the bad news :(

Note: You must redeem your free GRID™ key by 10AM Pacific on Saturday, December 31, 2016! Immediately after 10AM Pacific on December 31, the code will magically vanish as if it were just a figment of your imagination, leaving this cryptic message behind in its wake.

Sorry, no profit for you...

From where did you get this information?

from what I know, if you have a steam key for a game, it will be still redeemable even if the game is not sold anymore, unless it is a bulk delete of stolen keys or something.

I traded many keys for games that are not sold on the store, and keys always worked..

That info it's from the same Humble Store, where you see the key, it's the first thing that appears.

I hope the other games from the GRID series won't be going down too. I loved GRID on the PS3, but haven't played it on the PC as there was no Linux port. I picked up DiRT Showdown in the Winter sale for myself and to giveaway, and was hoping GRID Autosport would get a better discount... maybe I should bite the bullet and buy it at the current price...

I mean, any key. If you're worried about that particular Humble Bundle key, just reveal it and copy it in your archive, it only vanishes from your HB account.

The key will still work. The warning only applies to the humble redemption page. So if you didn't reveal the key by then, then it will be gone. Codemasters would have to submit a request to Valve to deactivate the keys that haven't been used, which has not happened to any keys given out during Humble promos.

Now that is not saying that Codemasters would not do it, but it is highly unlikely that they would even bother to do so.

Tl;dr: Steam keys will remain valid past the 'expiration' date.

I really would like to know about these things earlier ^^ if steam would publish things like that the sales would increase for the particular games!

That can be great, something like that could attrack a lot of collectors to buy the last copies.

It is up to the developer/publisher to divulge such info, and not steam. Steam would not know this beforehand and merely followed through a request given to them by Codemasters.

If you are interested in this kind of stuff, I recommend following this group. Here, you can find all relevant information about games being at risk or removed and the reasons why.

DiRT 3 Complete Edition and F1 2013 removed

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

GRID & DIRT 3 had clear signs of being removed.

but F1 2013 was gone without any discount. I think it's been almost 3 years since it was last discounted on Steam, every F1 sale would exclude it for no apparent reason.

Bought it from G2A for $2.02 right after removal, so I got base game at least.

DLC were almost exclusively on Steam, no keys for that. So you'd have to buy Classic Edition for ~25€, if you really want that.

Strangely enough F1 2013 was heavily discounted on G2A during the last couple of weeks (I grabbed a copy aroind 10 days ago for the same price). Unfortunately I think that the best part of the game was the classic stuff and I'm afraid that we'll never be able to get a decent discount for the upgrade...

Why would they removed Dirt 3 when they released Complete Edition year ago, also why would they remove only one F1 from the series?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

DIRT 3 complete edition is still same game, just DLC added to package and GFWL of course taken out. (It was out on GFWL store)

Likely they didn't extend licensing deals. They said it would be cost prohibitive for DIRT 2, this is why GFWL didn't get removed from that game.

F1 2013 is probably related to classic content.

How is that even possible?
They're still selling the 2010 and 2011 versions with FREAKING Games For Windows Live, as well as the broken 2012 version, and they remove the best one without warning? That's... suspicious, to say the least.

Maybe they will "remaster" it and sell it on new consoles as complete edition. Just a thought that popped in my mind.

The licensing for the classic content (some of which was included in the base game) probably had much stricter terms.

Permalink

That explains it. I was wondering if they didn't just remove classic DLCs if that was case.
