It has apparently been six whole years since I first joined this wonderful community. I first found SG when I had an extra key for Pillars of Eternity, a game that I loved but every gamer in my life had already played. I went looking around the internet, hoping to find a place to give the key to someone who would appreciate it and I found this incredible website. In recent years, my activity on this site has dramatically decreased--I think I was averaging fewer than 10 giveaways entered a month for a while-- but rediscovered the site this September with the community train.
December is absolutely the month when the generosity of this community becomes most apparent, and I have been blown away by everyone's kindness this holiday season. There are so many traditions that I love here: the community advent calendar, the official SG Holiday event, the bundled game gifting thread, the Profile Christmasifying thread, and so many individual advent calendar events presented by some of our most active users. I want to express gratitude to every one of you who participated in these events for putting a little bit more joy into the world. Personally, things have been somewhat difficult lately, including a death in the family that was sudden, if not entirely unexpected. Seeing all the warmth and generosity you all have displayed has really brightened an otherwise challenging time.
So, I'd like to continue this spirit of generosity with a little train of my own. I want to continue my usual tradition for cakeday and irl birthday events by creating a train made up mostly of bundled games but finished with a game high on the community wishlist. Previously, I have placed limits on the capstone game by restricting it to people who give more than they receive, or by restricting it to groups like Playing Matters or Playing Appreciated. However, this year I'm going to keep it completely open (aside from the level 2+ requirement). The turnaround on this train is pretty quick (it ends in just a couple days) but given that it is the weekend, hopefully everyone will have the opportunity to join who wants to. Without any further ado:
Welcome Aboard and happy holidays!
