How are you?
greats on the cakeday and lvl 7. didn't enter any but bump :3
sorry to hear about the job(s). That's rough. I can't really say I have advice, esp not for that industry...
As far as streaming, idk... I personally like chill channels with relaxing music, and laid back energy. I like a lot of artwork stuff, but anything chill in the background as sound can be nice for me. For ones where someone interacts with the community, I like really wholesome, warm and welcoming vibes. Esp on the smaller scale where its more personable. I really like Pirate Software's moments of talking about their experiences, and their experiences and encouragement towards creators of every sort, not even just game devs. I gotta ask, what sort of streamers do you like of that nature?

Happy Cakeday.
As a recent graduate, there isn't much to say. I am currently in the process of job hunting and facing rejection.

Happy Cakeday, bump, and thanks!
I used to work gamedev for a rinky-dink animation company that did mobile games on the side. They were small enough that there wasn't any competition for the position, but it also didn't pay the bills. I'd recommend looking beyond gamedev specifically if you haven't already. Best wishes on that front.

Happy Cakeday Anxeal!
As for youtuber and Gamedev...
I would try to create the tiniest game that you feel you could charge for and not feel that it's a robbery. Do it while you are jobhunting, and if you get a job you may end it on your free time (or not). And if you get it done... Publish it by yourself. Probably you won't get any money, but it will add to your resumee and will mantain you busy while searching for a job.

Happy Cakeday♪
I have a feeling the end will begin next year.
I like jokes too, so I have been testing the operation of the distribution lately.
First of all, if you want to become a youtuber from SG, you can introduce your content or channel in the description after you have accumulated some kind of content.
(It is each person's own reason to watch or not watch. Also, I don't introduce my YoutubeCH in particular, it's for self-preservation for operation testing that I don't need people to come and watch).
So, is it content I would like to see?
Recently, there is something called meshyAI that can easily generate 3D character designs from 2D.
If I use your free version, the Creative Common License would be CC4.0....
I'm not even good at drawing 2D pictures to begin with, so I'm not even generating content that we can all share.
If I use this together with Live2D Cubism, I can easily create that thing in the lower right corner of the screen that V-tubers often use, so I might be able to run ahead of the “demise of YouTubers” to gain subscribers and survive.
The mass production of youtubers and v-tubers over the past few years has been an information product business, so I'm thinking that it won't be long before the use of these generated AIs will bring about the end of the Internet activity on the planet.
Is that a good enough answer?

Happy cakeday!
P.S. I know it's not exactly what you might want to hear, but just try and do something you actually enjoy making and are passionate about. Keep in mind that 99% of YTers fail, and never get anywhere. And if you strike gold being that 1% you really don't want to be doing something that will burn you out :P

Don't know what it's like getting a job outside of the US but not hearing back from 90%+ of applications submitted seems par for the course for me, at least not in a reasonable time frame as some may come back months later for a follow up. Don't get too discouraged!
Happy cakeday and good luck on the search!

Hey, thanks for the train, happy cakeday !
Sorry to hear that you got fired once again, whats the reason you got fired ? again ?
Maybe try to make a portfolio showing your work ? If I would get 100 applications for a job I would definitely look at portfolios first.
If you want to make youtube videos, I think making a series about making a game from 0, polishing it, documenting all the struggles marketing and end result would be interesting, firstly you would get youtube revenue, game sales and personal satisfaction.
Good luck searching for new spot, or even better, make yourself your own boss !

Hello everyone!
I've been inactive for a long time but I'm back (kinda, sorta). It's my cake day and I'm about to hit level 7 so here's a train to celebrate. You'll find that it's a bit lacking in terms of content because, well, I can't get a job.
The part where I rant (optional)
I got fired once again. Now that I've been through 4 companies in such a short time, I'm having trouble getting hired. I don't even get responses to my applications, it's crazy. I specialize in Game Dev (Unity, C#) + Performance Optimization and I've developed with Rust professionally before (Remote preferred but not a necessity). I'm not looking for a job on this forum, just looking for pointers and maybe where to find a career counselor that fits me, or even how to find and apply to jobs (yeah I'm that miserable). I'm primarily using LinkedIn but it has let me down.
I kinda wanna become a game dev Youtuber but I can't really think of any interesting content and it's very risky without a day job. Let me know what kind of content you'd like to see and I might just do it. Do you prefer educational, entertainment, or anything else? Please let me know down in the comments. Smash like and subscribe and ring the bell and bop it and twist it and pull it
The biggest train link you've ever clicked
Choo choo!
