The Electric Boogaloo is a dance style that became meme-ified to denote crazy sequels, as popularized by the 1984 film Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo. While we are not break dance battling here, it is kind of like a screenshot battle and hence, the "screenshot boogaloo".

Added second image.
Yes it is
Oh, well, here we go again... System Shock (1)?
You may think I've spotted your screenshot before or played the game outside of first level... But all I actually know - this symbol is used for Steam badge of the game.
Risen 3: Titan Lords?
Looks like Malik's blade from Prince of Persia...
And Ratash's hand behind him.
And it is! (Also full name of the game is Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands.)
Yes, sorry, I should have written a full name of the game.
Thank you for understanding me, I didn't want it to seem like a shot in the dark :D
Tiny, but recognizable.
Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura !
I knew that would be fast :) You're right!
Such a recognizable cow. Love that game to bits.
Indeed. One of my most favourite games of all time, too.
Not sure how to attach images, so I uploaded to imgur instead:
As for attaching images, use the template from here :) https://www.steamgifts.com/about/comment-formatting
That "Cat" in the [ ] brackets is just a name for the picture typed by you; it will be visible when you hover your mouse over the image.
Aha, thanks for the heads up. I'll see if I can remember that the next time I happen upon the thread and can actually guess the game :D
And the game is... Ultima 2, as I may guess?..
Don't remember the full name, decided not to google it to be more honest here :)
Ultima 2 is from 1982, so it's not that. But in fairness, I'll allow it, since it's Ultima Worlds of Adventure 2: Martian Dreams (which came out in 1991), which is probably what you meant.
Yes, I meant Worlds of Adventure 2. Martian Dreams, or smth like that...
Upd: Oh, I see. I just remember that there is the same menu in the one mentioned by me :D
Yep all good. I was worried it might be a little too obscure since it was pretty old, but alas..
Cannot say for everyone, but it seems to me that there are many people of any age, so someone could still regognize it in any way. As for me, I just loved playing old and MS-DOS games as a child, that's why I can remember something.
Guess I'll skip my turn for now in order to see some more from you here :)
Yeah fair enough. I, too, have fond memories of old DOS games as a child. Good times.
I'll have another go at it then :)
Unfortunately, your image format is such that "right-click -> Search Google for Image" turns up plenty of results for the correct game.
One of the more experienced players would have to explain how to prevent that from happening.
Oh, well darn. I just did a tinyeye image lookup before posting, and it came up empty, but I see doing it your way reveals what game it is. Oh well, I'll know that for next time.
Since aonbheannach gave me another chance at it, here's an older racing game. Hilarious at LAN parties due to insane AI, way back when.
Don't upload such a big image cuz there is Google images and Yandex.
Yeah I just realized. I'll cede my turn then. You have a go.
Fatal Racing ?
Yeah, as I wrote to badbutcher, I'm ceding my turn, so if he doesn't want to have a go, it's all yours. Or you just take. Whatever works.
My turn then. Do you know this guy ?
It's Evil Islands, which has got its second breath after all those memes like "I won't give you a stone" :)
However, same issue as the previous one: the picture "googles" easily.
Maybe one more try? :)
Okay...This one is one of my favorites from my childhood
Edit: Google doesn't find it :D
But Yandex most certainly does. :P
It's Diego from Gothic :)
Upd: I still love the original one more than the new version.
Well... Here we go.
Conan Exiles - The Warmaker's Sanctuary.
He is quite distinctive, was always going to be able to find him.
Champion of the Warmaker
Yes, he's quite interesting...and not so easy to fight with.
I appreciated how he broke - in some ways - the common atmosphere of Conan Exile.
What determines if his helmet is glowing or not?
I have seen some footage from that dungeon guide where his helmet was dark.
As I got it, they refer to three fight phases (100% - 75%, 75% - 50% and lower in terms of HP). The principle is simple: the more you hit him, the bigger, stronger and faster he becomes. During the third phase his helmet is starting to glow.
Now to pick a game to post.
No, Lagi got it.
Hint 1: on Steam.
Hint 2: EA.
Hint 2 Deluxe Edition: EA is not EA.
Added late 2nd image and hints.
For no reason other than someone posted animals from it before.
Added DLC hint.
Aquila Bird Flight Simulator?
Now that was obscure! Luckily typing "eagle simulator steam" into google yielded some results.
I'll have a picture up shortly.
Oh you meant early access, nothing to do with EA.
Think I came across that one yesterday, but was thinking early 2000s with the fidelity shown.
A lot of games has it.
Well, let me say...
Nope, new picture added.
It reminded me of Psychonauts :D Not sure, but I've definitely seen it somewhere.
Afraid not, new picture added.
Isn't it Children of Orc then?..
I remember there was a planet with a civilization of similar creatures.
Correct! I'm suprised it was found so quickly.
Inspired by previous funny character :D
I guess, this game will be quite eazy to recognize.
Upd: Since you guessed the name of the game, I realized it actually doesn't matter as for clarifying the part (it was II).
So, yes, your turn :)
The funny thing is that I've never actually played the game and I've never seen this goblin before... I just recognized the art style lol
It's one of the things why I thought that the game would be eazy to guess :)
I played it a lot as a child, and still have a warming memories.
But it's okay :) Thank you for your sharing.
Yup, still totally not a vampire.
The Longest Journey?
Aye, that's the thing.
I actually played through this game recently. It's so good!
2nd image added.
Well... I don't really like making difficult riddles, I hope it will be easy to guess.
Especially if you appreciate old games :)
Hint 1: The game was releazed by German developers in 2002.
The expansions and continuing were cancelled due to marketing issues.
Hint 2: The game was included in recent bundles.
Sid Meier's Civilization V?
Upd: first hint added.
Second hint added.
Hint 1: Published in 1995.
Hint 2: DOS.
Hint 3: Platformer.
Looks like... Prehistorik?
Does it? It is not Prehistorik.
The Lion King?
I don't remember seeing any lions in this game, so no.
This comment was deleted 1 month ago.
Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest?
Joe & Mac 2?
Was that a guess or just frustration? Because that is not the answer.
I've actually meant this game - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ugh!
but apparently I shouldn't've guessed it because it's not 1995'-published.
The tree and graphic style in the second picture remind me of Simon the Sorcerer 2, but that's almost a wild guess.
No... added another hint and image.
Yogho Yogho spel?
I didn't want to make a reply since I posted a lot here recently, but...
The game has German name... Das Geheimnis von Foody, as far as I remember.
You remember correctly!
Eh can we post obscure non english specific games? That seems... not right?
Well, I played its Russian localized (pirate, of course) version, which called smth like “Foody’s Secrets” :D For me, it’s not that much important as for the name origin, if the game is a kind of unique and known for its time (and it was kinda well-known :) )
But I do understand why you’re asking this :)
See rule 3 above: Any video game is allowed ;)
Might be allowed, but isn't it rather poor form? If you think about it.
People posting obscure non english game pictures is a quick way to ruin things. Luckily some other person guessed it, but what happens when i start posting obscure pics from my local language, or what about any other person from some non english speaking country. You can see where i'm going with this, surely?
Edit: as an example, i could post screenshots from one of these danish dos games: http://danskedosklassikere.blogspot.com and pretty much nobody would have a shot in hell of guessing it.
Thank you for bringing it here :)
I’ll grab my turn in a couple of hours, as soon as I get home.
I was looking for a platformer since the first image and never even came close to finding that game.
Thanks for bringing this arduous one to an end.
Thank you sincerely for your comment! I would rightfully like to call you one of the best "riddle-makers" here :)
Well, continuing the topic of good old DOS games...
This one is a true legend, I just wonder how fast you'll guess it.
Hint 1: Published in 1997.
Hint 2: The game (or its remake, mentioning the name) was included in recent bundles.
Hint 3: Shooter, but with a plot and many references.
The Secret of Monkey Island?
Upd: First hint added.
Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back?
No, but interesting choice :)
Crash is more likely to be named as console game, not a DOS one.
I sincerely don't remember such pieces in DK 1 or 2, so no :)
Should be The Last Express.. That "wooden" part...
Third hint added. It should be very simple now :)
References you say? Say no more, I got you fam: Duke Nukem. Do I need to find specific, that'll be hard..
(Looked so deceptively like an adventure game.)
EDIT: I just noticed now that you even mentioned "shooter". I somehow completely missed that word.
No. it's not DN :)
P.S. As for the specific name, for me it won't be of much meaning, if it was Duke Nukem.
But thank you for your guess in any way :)
Looks very much like a Build engine game. Shadow Warrior?
You're very close to the answer (I mean, the engine mentoioned).
Not SW, but, maybe, one more try? :)
Second tiny icon image added.
I hope it's not that phrase for Bob from E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy :D
(Upd: but if yes, I would give my turn to you, as it was too fast)
Yes and thanks
Hint : released for ps2/xbox and wii
Second Hint : published in 2006
new hint added
New image added
Mortal Kombat: Armageddon.
I had ruled that out as on the list of wii games I went through it was listed as released in 2007
I didnt pay attention of wii release date MB. congratz
Wouldn't have got it till the last image anyway, as I was looking for that radar thing to be part of the UI.
I thought this one was going to go right away.
So I will just say don't worry about looking for an obscure game, and this picture is really fair.
Surprised it needed, but added second image.
Horizon Zero Dawn?
Yes! (sorry late reply added last image before sleep)
Sorry for not writing an answer earlier. The game is quite recognizable, I just wanted to give the opportunity for someone else to answer, especially mentioning I've posted quite a lot here recently and do not want to "fill" everything with myself even more :)
I know that I could not write this, but for some reason I considered it important.
Thank you sincerely for continuing the life of this discussion!
Added 2nd image.
Added 3rd image and a hint.
Shadow of Rome?
Hint 1:Windows, Xbox, GameCube, PlayStation 2, also Game Boy Advance.
Hint 2: multiple characters.
Hint 3: movie-based.
One of the Turok games?
No one of them.
Dino Crisis 2?
No Dino-name here.
Tomb Raider Legend?
Wrong franchise and this game is not so legendary...
Serious Sam 3: BFE?
No Sams involved.
Added 3rd image and hints.
Reminds me of X-Men or X-Men Legends, or comething related, but not sure which version exactly.
No Cross-Men presented (afaik).
Added last ? hint...
Yes, it is.
Just repeating it once again: I sincerely adore your little guessing quests here :)
