A week ago I bought a bunch of games on Steam, as a "Gift", and opted to give Steam the receipient gift email address at a later time. Now I've done a couple contests on Steamgifts and I can't figure out how to give them the new games!

So inside Steam, where can I locate all the gifts I purchased and give the email address of the recipient? Can somebody please post a walkthrough on how to do this? Thanks!!

yes, either send them through their email (Steamgifts reveals the email add of the winner) or add them as your friend and send them that way.

After sending the gift, it will stay in your inventory with a tracking message. it will disappear once the user has received and acknowledged the gift

MDuh, that's what I'm asking, HOW do I send them the gift to their email?

I can't find the area in Steam where I click on my pre-purchased gift, and then enter their email to receive it.

Where can I do this? Anybody know?

Thanks

you can also do it in your steam client. Under where it says "X online" (your friends) is an envelope. Click on that and go to "0 new items in inventory".

Thats how I get to it at least, you can just click on your name and go to inventory, but I find my method faster (for me at least).

I'm confused.

The gifts are in your inventory, and you can send them through steam, [you must have winner added on steam] or through email, you must ask winner's email

edit: just saw you got it (:

Not related to your question, but... :)

Since it appears your giveaways were open to everyone, there's a slight chance one of your winners has never read the rules... :) Many giveaway creators of "0 CV" / "Level 0" giveaways check the winner's profile before sending the gift. That is, make sure they redeemed every game they won directly to their Steam account, didn't regift it, that sort of thing. :) Good luck! :)

That's a very valid point fiftykyu. Is there a way I can double-check this? Like, easily?

There's no foolproof way to double-check this stuff at all. And if there's any automatic tool to do it, I've never heard of it. As far as I know, you have to check manually, one game at a time - it's very tedious. :(

The most important thing to check is simple, though. Do they already own the game you're about to give them? :) Often someone wins a giveaway during a sale for that game. I've had to ask for rerolls for that reason several times - if they really wanted that game, maybe they just bought it. :) People forget they were still entered in your giveaway. :) You should check before sending them a second copy. :)

Otherwise, checking their previous wins, you can use two different browsers with one open to a person's SteamGifts wins and another open to their Steam "all games" tab. Check each win, make sure it's listed. Oh, and just to make this more frustrating, many correctly redeemed DLC wins won't appear at all. You can see this yourself by checking your own profile in a browser - most of your random DLC won't be listed. But if someone wins a game like Call of Duty: Ghosts, and there's no Call of Duty: Ghosts showing, something is wrong. :)

As for specifically what is wrong, you may not be able to tell. Maybe they "won" a fake giveaway made by a friend who was trying to boost CV, maybe they were sent a region-restricted key and marked it received because they didn't know any better, maybe they didn't want the game and sent it to someone else, gave it away, etc. It's unlikely you will have the time to play detective with this stuff, really you just want to know if you should ask the support people for a reroll. Good luck! :)

You add them on Steam, and ask them to temporarily make their profile public so you can check. They can set it private again after you're done checking. :)

Realistically you're probably not going to run into any bad winners around here, but it doesn't hurt to be careful. :) Forgetting they just bought the game is the most common thing I've seen. Out of almost 350 games given away, I've only had one winner who was intentionally ignoring the rules. :) Good luck! :)

I've heard a LOT of people are getting keys from here and then selling them on G2A. Do you think this is what is happening?

Not likely from winning, could be through trades though
