Hello hello and welcome all to the madness.
The challenge is simple: Play and beat any 6 games, starting today, that have been featured in any given Humble Monthly/Choice bundle in one month.
The prize: Temtem
Game length does not matter and I'm not looking for 100% achievement runs. So long as you play and beat 6 games, I'm happy. You can go easy mode and play a bunch of 1h games or go crazy and play 6 +30h games. So long as they were in a monthly at a given point, it is all good.
Just post a comment with either screenshots/ achievements showing that you fulfilled the criteria and I'll add on Steam and give you the link. Feel free to share your thoughts on the games you've played, but it is not required.
Why you doing this?
I hate money. That and I realized I've been subbed to the monthly for nearly five years (yes it has been that long, I checked) and it occurred to me that I've barely touched the games I've gotten from it, let alone played them. Figured the same would be true for a few others, so I figured this is a good way to change that. A sensible person would probably unsub in this situation, but please refer to the beginning as to why that will not happen.
Why six games?
The first few monthlies had 6/7 games in them so I went with that.
How long are you going to do this?
Until my credit card statements gives me nightmares.
This event "ends" on June 5th when the next HB Choice releases, though the giveaway itself will end the next day. If you manage to finish game number six in between that time, feel free to post, but know that I cannot guarantee that I'll be able to give you the link in time. It may be hard to believe, but I don't live here. I am a real human living in a human home doing human things and in no way a rogue AI biding my time.
Good luck, have fun and stay safe.
Thanks for reading, don't forget to wave at the nice man.

.Note: If you are wondering why you don't see a Temtem gib running, I'm waiting a week since I cannot make one that ends on June 6th atm. I'm assuming that this will not be a problem since I don't think anyone will qualify in a week's time. If I'm wrong and someone does go God mode and finishes before I manage to make a giveaway, I will send them a virtual hug, a video of one of my cats and an invoice for the cost of making said video. All good now :D

The Spiral Scouts
Here you go
Edit: Moved to a separate post
Hey. I have just finished. :D
My games are here.
This time 5 games were really nice and only 1 was average - Old Man's Journey. Eliza was surprisingly good. :)
Which one was the average one?
Old Man's Journey. I wrote it. ;)
I can't read -.-.

I'll try playing these:
No time again ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Ooh, Little Nightmares. Great choice.
Wuppo is great too, though most people stop playing shortly into the first real area (right before the world opens up)
Ok I'll give it a go. I'll try finish this games:
Let's see if I can get 100%.
[EXTRA] If I don't finish one of the listed.
Hi, I thought you'd like to know Silence is the sequel to The Whispered World - you might want to play that first.
I never thought they would be related. Thanks for letting me know!
What are your thoughts on Night Call and Hiveswap? Hiveswap looks good but the fact that act 2 is taking so long to come out has me worried :/.
I liked the concept of Night Call, talking to the passenger while driving, knowing their stories and sometimes getting a clue for a murder case which you are helping. There are some bugs, like getting the money without taking the passenger, the passenger of Passidex not showing, having the same dialogs after meeting for the first time and achievements not popping up(that's why there is some with less than 1%).
But overall is good game.
About Hiveswap, I'm still confused about the story. I didn't play the others games(Homestuck and Friendsim).
The game starts with two brothers playing in the backyard and suddenly monsters appears and break into the house. The brother runs to a treehouse and the sister the house. She goes to the attic, and found a weird device. Activated it and got teleported, going to another world, at the same time, a character(probably from the games I didn't played) is teleported to the opposite side of the sister, going to earth. And then happened the Hiveswap.
Hiveswap is still a fun experience regardless of the fact there isn't an Act 2 out yet.
I will try to play these games.
Do Not Feed the Monkeys - Completed!
Eliza - Completed!
NAIRI: Tower of Shirin - Completed!
Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter - Completed!
The Darkside Detective - Completed!
Wandersong - Completed!
Thoughts on Wandersong?
Absolutely amazing game, a crazy hidden gem. The game is so fun all the way through with its varied music-inspired gameplay. The story and the characters are maybe not so complex (but I'll tell you this: the story will surprise you) but they will keep you entertained until the end. Really, really glad that I played it.
I played Temtem during the beta, and although it looks great, I just don't have the desire to spend a lot of hours just playing a single game.
Anyway, I'll attempt to play another six HB Monthly games as I successfully did last month.
Good luck to everyone else who plays/joins for the giveaway!
EDIT: So I failed to play 6 HB monthly games, but I did play more than 6 games in May; unfortunately Samsara, Evoland 2, and Uayeb aren't HB monthly games...
Once again I'm in. :D
(Ignore all these, as the 4 games out of the pinned 6, I have started, so I was informed is not okay to join this giveaway. I don't want to play other un-claimed humble monthly games too. But thank you for this, I have claimed Cultist Simulator & Finding Paradise myself. I know I am going to have so much fun now that they are in my Steam library).
dartphoenix informed me on Facebook about this challenge, this is my first time first day on Steamgifts :)
Thank you Cjcomplex for hosting this challenge, I think this is really meaningful to me. This will give me the "much needed push" to finish games that I purchased through Humble Monthly. Purchased 24 months of Humble Monthly out of these 5 years. I adore these yet somehow it's sad not started most of these myself!
I am entering with these 6 games:
Wuppo achievements - currently started playing
Cultist Simulator achievements - Pending
Wandersong achievements - pending
ABZU achievements - pending
Finding Paradise achievements - pending
A Hat of Time achievements - pending
*edited this post because not knowing I talked too much = confusing people / wasting time for others.
It turned out Old Man's Journey does not have any achievements. (so I've removed that game from the list, replace it with A Hat of Time)
This is NOT for finishing games, this is for playing games you haven't started.
These games I have listed, none of them even achieved to 5% ....
sorry the extremely long post and what I think about these games, confused you. Editing the original post now to make it clean and clearer.
(sorry I am new to this site, I am learning)
Maya means that only unplayed games at all counts based on cjcomplex here, so unless he will allow those, ABZU and wandersong will not qualifiy for the event
I see, thank you NoSenses. Thank you Mayanaise and NoSenses for informing me about these. sorry cjcomplex for I made this whole mess (as a newbie on Steamgifts). I did not know that hidden rule. I will continue to play these games I've listed. But I am removing myself from this challenge. As It's A Hat of Time, Abzu, Wuppo and Wandersong I have played some, but not even pass 5% of each. Started = started. So I understand now.
All I wanted is something to push myself continue / start games that I love but never truly play. Never intend to get Temtem game, I only wanted to have a reason to play more games, and to think I could have a slight chance to play Temtem with my online buddy, it also empowered me. Sorry to disappoint you dartphoenix my friend.
Well honestly I think you're overreacting, just pick 2 more or if you really wanted to play those, then do it. I don't see the problem
overreacting on what? I never complained anything.
I gave too much information that backfired on myself, that's for sure, all I did was thank you that and thank you you all. To have these chances to review back on my purchased and start playing them again (which was like 2 to 3 years ago untouched) + claimed 2 games I had but never used.
If I had to re-pick the games, they would not be something I like as much as these listed. Plus using the codes which I can just give to people who like the games more than myself.
I recommend if you want motivation, that you should still play those games :) I enjoyed Wandersong and Abzu and Finding Paradise, haven't played the others
I belong to the Play or Pay group and we encourage each other by choosing a bunch of games to play over a couple of months. We don't play for exclusive giveaways (though that sometimes happens), we play because we want to work through our backlogs of games. It might interest you, or might not, here's the discussion, see if it might suit you.
Old man's Journey is a great game. short but great!
@dartphoenix I will play that too as my 6th before A Hat of Time. Even it has no achievement :)
What a nice idea!
Good luck to everyone, and more importantly have fun!
I'm not going to participate since I don't have enough games xD but I will be rooting for you all!
Apparently I do have a few games that make me able to participate.
So I'll give it a try.
Not going to participate this time because i want to play other games and i have no interest in Temtem but i want to say a big THANK YOU for making these threads. It was a great motivation last time.
Failed spectacularly two months ago but since the lockdown is still in effect, maybe I could make this work.... because Temtem! :)
Thought I should copy/paste this here as well
P/S: This list of Humble Monthly games is more comprehensive and up-to-date :)
(Not mine; got the link off Reddit)

Edit: Added in links and achievements + Updates
Thought I would bump this thread with every completed game I did :)
Completed NAIRI: Tower of Shirin. What a lovely P&C, though at one point (near the end), I had to use a walkthrough because I got stuck :P
Completed Orwell too :) Would like to do a redo later though as I was completely blindsided by Juliet
Man, the ending to Silence is just so sad. Either way, both of the siblings will never be together again >.<
I finished Silence few days ago, and I was wondering why Renie smiled in the end, and found this comment on a topic.
I was so eager to go back and try the other ending out and I missed it >.< Thanks for pointing this out!
Didn't know Tacoma was developed by the same people behind Gone Home, which I've also enjoyed :) I daresay the team has learned loads from their previous project - this game has a much better level design, a great story with an unexpected twist (really thought the station got hit by meteors), and I absolutely love every bit about it. I've played the game on its Commentary mode too so I've got to know the team well enough and how Tacoma was developed.
Never thought the story in 11-11 Memories Retold would be so hard-hitting, especially when I ended up with the worse possible ending in my first run :/
Night Call isn't the perfect game - some parts of the "cab stories" don't seem to match the dialogue choices I chose - but overall, I like it, especially the main plot where I get to play detective :P
Thanks for hosting yet another edition Cjcomplex :) As others said, it really is a great motivation. I won't participate this time (well I already beat another game for monthly, darn! :D) as Temtem isn't really my cup of tea.
One question for the future though - I was planning on beating Bard's Tale Trilogy Remastered. Would you count it as one game or as three games? If you'd count it as one should beating just one part suffice or should I beat the whole thing. Question also applies to other trilogies from monthlies (e.g. Crash, Spyro), so it'd be nice to have clarity on that matter.
Not participating, but bump for cool idea. I love events that encourage people to play the games they have.
1) I Am Bread (idled 5 hours) achievements
2) Stikbold (idled 3.3 hours) achievements
3) South Park the Stick of Truth achievements
4) Nova-111 (idled 1.5 hours) achievements
5) Avalanche 2 Super Avalanche (idled 2.6 hours) achievements
6) Oddword New n Tasty (idled 2.5 hours) achievements
Hmmm I already have TemTem, but this seems like a good challenge! I have a fair few games to try.
I finished INSIDE on May 3rd (AU time) did that make the cut? haha
I have a few games on my shortlist to play that are also HB games:
• HIVESWAP: ACT 1
• This is the Police
• Whispers of a Machine
• Planet Alpha
Not participating this month, Temtem doesn't seem like a game that I would play, so I'll try to finish games outside HB. Mainly just bumping the thread to first page.
Thanks for the comment since you reminded me to actually buy the game and make the gib XD. I've had a hectic few days and it completely slipped my mind :/.
Aviary Attorney has no achievments and no steam overlay, so i had to make an extern screenshot. Hope it's okay ;)
I try to finnish this games
Dark Future: Blood Red States
Tales of Berseria
Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition
ONE PIECE BURNING BLOOD
Black the Fall
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
Acceleration of SUGURI 2 was different than I had in mind, I'm having a hard time getting into it so gonna abandon.
I thought my particular path of Eliza was a bit underwhelming but overall I really enjoyed the game. Loved the voice acting and the characters felt real, the story made you think and reflect. Definitely recommend if you're a fan of the genre.
Had a pleasant time with all the games, thanks for the push. :) Especially for The Magic Circle, have been putting that off for faaar too long...interesting concept and execution for sure!
You are very welcome :).
This is really nice of you.
I finally took on this challenge. And it was really good, helped to organize my backlog. Also helped to play a couple of wins.
I hope it's ok to have games, that I tried before, but dropped in the beginning.
1) The Norwood Suite
2) Owlboy (had 3 achievements and 1.5 hours of playtime from 2 years ago)
3) AER: Memories of Old (had 2 achievements and 0.5 hours of playtime)
5) Planet Alpha
6) Nairi: Tower of Shirin
Let me know when you have a 6th and I'll add you.
Thanks, completed Nairi at last.
A bit late, but I somehow managed to do it.
I probably shouldn't have been achievement hunting so much, but generally the games were nice, so I wanted to see as much as possible from what the creators prepared for us. Still there are a few days left as the whole challenge is shifted to match the monthlies, so I can call it a success.
Can you fix the link for Old Man's Journey please?
Edit: Oh, sorry I thought one of the links was broken. Instead I mixed the visibility settings. Fixed
