Short answer: Serious Sam.
Are you talking about the old Duke Nukem games (2 platformers: 1 2 and one FPS) or the new one (Duke Nukem Forever)? The old ones are fun. The new one is not even worth installing. I loved Duke Nukem 1 and 2 growing up. Duke Nukem 3D was pretty okay when I got around to it a couple of years ago. Duke Nukem 3D is like a slower-paced Doom with humor. Duke Nukem Forever is trash though.
The entire Serious Sam series is tremendously fun though, especially in multiplayer coop. It's a lot like Hard Reset and a little bit like Painkiller, but different enough from both to warrant playing. That said, the first Serious Sam is nearly as good as the newest, other than graphically. They're all very similar, and it would be wearisome to play them all consecutively.

Ignoring the big failure that was the latest Duke Nukem... I'd say Duke.
But I got more enjoyement out of the SS games.
