If it'll be set future, i'll be probably done with the series.

Please, don't make the same mistake as Call of Duty. If it will be placed in WW1 - WW2, i'm pretty sure a lot of playerbase will switch to Battlefield.

Why? Battlefield 2142 was one of the best games ever.

Battlefield still needs another 2142. So that's one futuristic shooter that is a must. Leave it to cod to overdue things

I guess they listened to the market, people get tired of futuristic wars, but I guess in some years that will be selling again when people get tired about real history wars

Looks interisting and all... but 1? Are game companies trying to deliberately name their games in a confusing way now?

the first game of the series was called Battlefield 1942 not Battlefield 1

I know, but calling a new game in a franchise "1" kinda implies that it's either a port or a remaster of the first one, it's not a good idea it can get pretty confusing in the future.

Exactly... now I'm suspecting that MS may have something to do with it.

That must be it. After all, that's a company that counts from nothing to 360 to 1.

i think they call it 1 because it was the first modern "Battlefield" (if you know what i mean) So it was the first major war in the modern days so they call it as it is THE battlefield

World Wor 1 setting ? That could be interesting. And very, very messy if it's even remotely historically accurate.
But what's with this new trend of having absolute shit cover versions/remixes of famous songs in your trailers ?

Comment has been collapsed.

From what I've hear it will be an alternative WW1 setting so probably won't be even close historically, but that could make it even more interesting or bad depending on how they deal with it.

UPDATE - 4:15pm: This post has been updated with information based on the official EA reveal.

Later this afternoon, EA made it official: the next Battlefield is called Battlefield 1. It’ll be out on October 21 (PS4/PC/Xbox One) worldwide, and it’s set in a realistic version of World War I—despite rumors, they’re not doing any alternate history. (Unless you consider the fact that it’s a video game to be alternate history.)

Oh thanks for that, when I checked last it wasn't updated yet.

I'm guessing you're impression of the song is inversely related to your enjoyment of the original.
Personally I very much dislike The White Stripes and this song in particular but I actually thought the remix was cool, at least in the context of the trailer.
And the full "Sound of Silence" cover from the GoW4 trailer is awesome (although I actually heard it on the radio before I had ever watched the trailer. Which may or may not have happened in the middle of writing this). Although in this case I have no real opinion on the original.

That was a cool trailer~ definitely a fantastic job from the art team! Hoping that the gameplay can keep that quality and hype

I don't know why we should buy Battlefield 1 if we already own Battlefield 4. That's 3 versions further.

I will buy because i love ww1 and ww2, i play to many future-wars and it was sucks.

Interesting. But Verdun will probably still be more realistic and a better WW1 experience even without the fancy graphic.

Trailer looks great, but I hope they'll try to be somewhat realistic. Can't stand games that pick a setting and then add setups and mechanics that simply don't fit.
