As per Techland's tweet, "we will be removing the Ultimate Edition and Upgrade to Ultimate Edition for Dying Light 2 Stay Human from all platforms on September 30. Please note: players who already own either the Ultimate Edition or Upgrade to Ultimate Edition will not be affected."

It's caused by The Beast (which is part of Ultimate) growing from DLC to separate game. If you own Ultimate Edition, you'll get The Beast as part of Ultimate.

If you decide to get it, make sure to check prices - due to better discount base game + Ultimate DLC is cheaper for me compared to buying Ultimate Bundle (unless I'm mistaken and there is something more added to the bundle).
On the other hand, content of Ultimate DLC is otherwise just a bunch of cosmetics (as the other story DLC is now part of the base-game) and I don't think they mentioned the price of The Beast, so it might be better and cheaper to wait than basically pre-ordering The Beast...

Base game + Ultimate DLC should contain everything the Ultimate Edition has and is cheaper in the US region.

That's neat, that they sell the pack for more money than the base game + upgrade.

And Psyko is absolutely correct, the ultimate edition has digital (non-game) extras, xp boost, crafting materials, various skins, and the unknown valued The Beast (judging from the full price difference of the base game and the ultimate version - 30€ - I'd guess it to be 30-50€ base price, depending on how generous they want to be with the early (pre)-purchasers.

$63 for cosmetics? No.

That includes the base game and the story DLC (24€), so it's 39€ for cosmetics and The Beast game, as written in OP's description.

$23.99 for the Reloaded version is the way to go. That already comes with Bloody Ties. The game is a ton of fun, but all the cosmetic junk in the Ultimate Edition is really just for hardcore fans. I doubt it's going to be more cost effective to get The Beast via the Ultimate Edition upgrade unless you definitely want the cosmetics as well and absolutely want to play the expansion Day One.

I will chuckle a bit if it gets added to Humble Choice after removing the Ultimate Edition option though.

That would be nice tbh, I wouldn't blame them for not wanting a cheap...ish? (still ~30€) option to get The Beast if they already include the base game in a bundle for a few bucks.

I agree. While it would be kind of funny, it also would be the way in which I'd acquire the PC version and replay DL2.

I got the Reloaded Version as well. Since I'm not playing it right now, I am in no immediate need to upgrade to Ultimate. It seems like a waste of money for me.

DL1 was never bundled, just saying.

What about all the DLCs? You think they'll make it free for all, like a part of the "Standard Edition" ?

Just as I thought they won't manage to make a bigger mess with dlcs/editions than they did with DL1...
PS. IOI still leads in this competition.

Guess they saw Ubi$oft turn a DLC into a full priced game and thought "hey we can do that too"

Assassin's Creed Mirage was planned as a DLC for Valhalla but was "expanded" (read repackaged) and sold as a separate game to make up for the lack of development during 2020

Funnily they kinda did opposite with Dying Light 1, they released what was supposed to be separate unrelated game as a DLC. (Hellraid)
