That site screams scam in so many ways I don't even know where to start.
This is a good start, I guess:
Pi’s core team is led by two Stanford PhDs and one Stanford MBA, all of whom helped build Stanford’s blockchain community. We cannot guarantee that the project will succeed. However, we do promise to work our hardest to make our shared dreams a reality, while maintaining the highest standards of integrity. You can learn more about us in “Core Team” page in the main menu of the app.
Yeah, they can't put the name of those 2 developers on the page, you need to run the app to know.

Stanford PhDs are developing a new digital currency. Mining is not done on server farms, but on mobile phones.
And you can be a part of it!
Started in July participants count now crossed 1.25 million user mining Pi on their mobiles.
The invitation for you is here: https://minepi.com/Eyequba and use Eyequba as your invitation code.
As a plus: Everybody who joins me will end up on my whitelist :)
If you care at all.
Personally I think that this approach has a lot of potential. Phones are everywhere!
Why not earn your share of it? It's free, just like Bitcoin once was.
What do you think?
