I played it on PC with a 360 controller...personally I think you should go with PC cuz as you said the 360 will be gone 3 years from now.

Actually in many respects the Xenos (Xbox 360), HD 5500 (DDR3 version) and 8600GT are equivalent. The HD 5550 should have an edge, but I didn't see benchmarks for the same games for both cards.
Four years are a difference, but the 5550 DDR3 is low end, while the 8600GT was mid-range, and this difference takes a while to bridge.

LEGO Batman 2 is on sale for the 360 for $10 until tomorrow. I'm not sure whether to buy it or wait for a sale on PC (it's already been sold at $7.50 on GMG in the past).
If I buy it for the PC, the PC I'll play it on will be my HTPC, with a Radeon HD 5550. I think that the 360 will have a performance advantage, but I don't know by how much. This means that for now it will probably play better.
The advantage of the PC will be a slightly lower price, potentially longer lifetime (support for the 360 will end 3 years from now, and I'm not sure what will happen with digital downloads then, let alone replacing a defective machine), and potentially better performance with upgraded hardware.
What would you suggest?
