The winner stays anonymous until he/she has received the gift. If the winner does not accept the gift or there's an issue because of which the GA creator wants another winner then the GA creator can ask for a re-roll to get another winner. No gift or key gets wasted.

They are only anonymous to people other than the giveaway creator. This system is here to prevent possible scam attempts. For example if we could see who won the giveaway, you could change your name on steam and make it identical to the one of the giveaway winner and then add the giveaway creator on steam and ask for "your" gift/key. By making giveaway winners anonymous to everyone but the giveaway creator this isn't possible.
Anyway, welcome to Steamgifts, enjoy your stay and thank you for making me chuckle.

Anonymous are taking the gift to finance their internet activities :)
For real now: Anonymous is because the winner didn't gave any feedback to it yet, meaning he hasn't marked it as received or not received yet. No need to worry about that.

I enter all these giveaways but what constantly happens is someone anonymous wins the gift and it says awaiting feedback does it redo the giveaway after a while or is the gift just wasted
