Why was the best game in the world removed from steam?(Mafia 1) :(

I was wondering why "Mafia:The City of Lost Heaven" was removed from Steam?
It's still my favourite game, and a lot of people like it...

Did 2KGames ever give an official answer to this?
Is there any way to get it back on Steam?

I contacted 2K support a few months ago to ask that. The reply:

"Thank you for contacting 2K technical support.

We have no official word as to why the game was removed from the Steam Store. This could be due to they no longer have product keys to issue for the game. Our department ensure the games run we have nothing to do with sales or availability.

It can't be the product keys, as Tony from Amazon told us on CAG he still had a bunch of product keys when they stopped selling it.

Since the former developer and publisher are both owned by 2K now, it's pretty safe to assume it's a licensing issue with one of the songs.

Same thing that happened with GTA Vice City.

That's what I heard too. They licensed the songs for 10 years and last year the license expired. Hope they do something about it though, cause it's one of my favorite games and I didn't get it on Steam while it was available.

IMO, Mafia 1 sucks. You have to drive so fucking much and you don't have a car radio to listen to. Then after you driven 30 minutes to the mission, you get to see a cutscene. You then get to play some arcade shooter and watch another cutscene. Now you'll have another 30 minute drive back to your bar. That's for every fucking mission.

You have never played a good game then... it's not like Mafia 2 you dumb shit it's all about the look of the game.. i probably spended like 10 hours to play that game or even more and when i first got it i did nothing i just drived around to check things out... but please hate on a game that is really old and was the first try on a mafia game you'r kind does not belong this this place begon!

I don't hate on games that are old, I play Counter-Strike 1.6 for fucks sakes. I prefer a game with more substance than drive 10 hours of a 12 hour game. I rather play Grand Theft Auto when if I were to drive around I can have fun doing it. Rather than drive around a virtual world and enjoy the scenery like some retarded baby that can't go outside.

stating that a game sucks is childish in my opinion. just because you didn't like a game doesn't mean you have to break it down. you probably never gave it a decent chance.
If you don't like cutscenes stay away from other brilliant made games with a good storyline.

So what? the game is like 11 years old game and you ALSO need to drive a car in GTA unless you use Trainer and the cars was not over powered in the old days i did not use a 500hp engine... or what other bullshit cars have these days and CS 1.6 is a FPS... not a Third Person shooter open world game... also the game is SLOW due to it is not programed to be fast play CS 1.6 a game there takes like 3 min then next round starts... also the game requier DMR for using the multiplayer which this game dont have :D.

Also CS 1.6 is a mod for Half life sinse CS is builded on that Engine if you have not realised the Half life 1 game came out before CS 1.6 so CS is not a real game it is more like a mod that VALVE made for it...
