Yeah, but Fnord wouldn't support something as openly bigoted and shallow as this, a game developed by a known (and rather intense) bigot here on SG. Add in that the user indicated that the developement was based in the intent of seeing how far Valve'd let them go with attacking minorities, despite Steam's ToS and interface openly prohibiting hate speech related content, as well the user indicating that the benefits of free SG CV was an additional factor in the development [something they already openly stated was a consideration for their previous game], and it seems to firmly be the most dubious offering on Steam thus far.
I think by contrast to that, the nuances between other trashy games on Steam are just.. not of any meaningful distinction. :P

Yeah, some games are just made to create drama. Feminazi seems to be one of those where the developer made an intentionally inflammatory game, with the reasoning that if there are enough people who hate on it, it will sell, because then the other crowd will buy it because some people they dislike hates it. Things like that are really best ignored, it feeds on drama and if it does not get any, it fails.

Technically it should fail on the premise of violating either of Steam's or Steamgift's content guidelines, but instead it's just coasting on the usual Steam troll reviews. Really, the true aggravation comes from Valve, who seems to never fail to lower expectations in them further. :X

Well, hopefully with Steam Direct in the pipeline, such games will crop up less and less in the future. Actually, I was completely unaware of that game prior to your link; I was making a general observation when I said there are worse games. I may be a proponent of universal free speech, but even I have my limits. Congratulations - I have no words to describe how I feel about that "game".

Steam Direct
Valve not managing to find a way to screw over their user base is like hoping for someone to play a GTA-style game for any meaningful duration and not manage to run over any civilians. It could happen! It maybe even sometimes does!
..But no, it really doesn't ever happen, and we all know it.
But really not going to hold out any expectations for it- currently it sounds rather dubious, and those're the parts that Valve doesn't seem totally confused and unsure about. The fact is, if Valve continues not wanting to put any actual effort into maintaining their service, it's going to continue to have issues. If Direct lowers the games hitting Steam to just the ones that can get enough interest to build up the financial support for Steam release, AND Valve starts doing basic moderation, then yes, it'll be an improvement. But right now it sounds like any other sloppy, half-assed, overly simplistic, super-lazy Valve approach to things. x_x
So yeah. We'll see how it turns out, but not going to count on it to improve things until I see it actually do so.

I would accuse you of rhetoric, were your statements not based on years of truth. This is why I lead the post with "hopefully". I like to keep dreams of a brighter future, even when I know, deep down in my blackened, shrivled heart, that only disappointment lies ahead. I really should be balancing these posts with image macros, but posting from my phone while at work has its limitations :P

It was so weird to play with Bad Rats or with Ravensword: Shadowlands. Low quality games that (other than that) work properly and they have content. Now if we compare these to DigiHomi's multiple iterations of Space Invaders with various topics, it's scary that classic "bad games" can be considered good, compared to some newer games D:

Yea but it's not been the same since it was bundled. Remember the post about trying to get it removed from the bundle list? I had kinda hoped that one would have been accepted. Bad Rats tried to take over but I think Fortix is still the official game of SG.

And here I was, hoping you found a spare key for Journey of the Light, by legendary scam artist Lord Kres, showing the world that at some point in the past Valve cared enough to punt unfinished, not-as-advertised, asset-flipped games off the Steam store.

It did end up going really far before someone noticed though. And Valve have been better at getting rid of obvious scam artists recently, with several indie devs getting booted for their behaviour each month. But at this point, banning 5 is a drop in the ocean.

Remember the days when Bad rats was the worst thing on steam?
In the spirits of those innocent days, I give you something that is worse, the video game equivalent of... well, some really nasty disease
