Oh God. I can't escape, can I? I've literally seen all of their concerts due to a friend who can't stop buying them. Just the other day he joined their fan club with a Tenso address to buy a towel for $60... I definitely +1 this for weird. ᕙ(⪰ᴥ⪯)ᕗ

I personally don't listen to it but they've actually had concerts in the US apparently.

I don't know something exactly similar. I like Amaranthe and it combines a pop-y sound with power metal. The first album is especially considered more pop by some: Amaranthine and 1.000.000 Lightyears from that album. But it's not exactly like Issues and there's still some growling.

Edit: Later albums actually have less growling. For example True, Exhale have no growling.

It sounds pretty similar to Dream Theater for me. I'd recommend you take a look at a fair bit of their stuff before you judge, they can be pretty diverse. They're generally categorized as Progressive Metal. My personal favourite album of theirs is Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence. Sadly, it's rare to find people who can actually understand that album properly.

Edit: After listening some more, my recommendations is way off. Maybe check out Hands Like Houses? A friend pointed them out to me when I asked, seems pretty much like what you're asking for. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NSIf7F7uMQ

IK Thats your opinion,
But, u compare them with Dream Theater, Seriously?
Very Few can even match Petrucci's technicality and music's sense.

I was mistaken. I had pulled up something much different, I had a cover. After searching around a bit, it's very difficult to find something of the nature they're requesting. What really defines too-much-metal or too-much-pop? Something like this is about as close as I can come. The rest all tips more into Rock than Metalcore. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xFDmYl3l6w

The person who did the cover had obvious inspiration from Dream Theater, so that's probably why I related the two.

Thanks. Doesn't seem like what the OP wanted (no pop in these), but I think I'll listen to some more Coldrain. I liked the sound.

On top of my head it looks like "We came as romans" or "of mice and men".
Also check "The Dillinger Escape Plan" for the mathcore aspect: http://www.dillingerescapeplan.org/content/option-paralysis
