So I loved CK1 (preferred it pre-expansion though) and CK2 is my most played game on Steam, with 1365h. Quite logically that I couldn't avoid to pre-order CK3, which releases next Tuesday.
I managed to avoid all previews, dev diaries and streams, so that I'll have more to discover on my own. :)

I know that there are some other enthusiastic fans, so why not share what we are playing first and report about our progresses.
Currently I'm eyeing Wessex for my first game. I'd like Bohemia, Moravia or Rashka too, but expect them to be too challenging while learning the ropes.

Reviews are coming in. IGN with 10/10, PC Gamer 94/100 ... "impressive" would be quite some understatement.

How interested are you in CK3?

View Results
Pre-ordered it
Will buy it asap
I'll wait for a first good discount
I'll wait for a bundle
I'm not interested at all.

I don't know. My first will be a random ruler, if there will be no challenges like in CK2 for CK3 items. Or someone who can create hellenic religion (never played it before).

Considering how lackluster Imperator: Rome is, I wouldn't be rushing out to buy CK3.

this^

Also I don't see a point in "I managed to avoid all previews, dev diaries and streams", this is not a story-based game. Most likely we'll get prettier version of CK2 with less content, so they could made as much money as possible from us. So I'm waiting for reviews and most likely good discount

The point of avoiding streams and dev diaries is to discover the new game mechanisms by myself.
But considering your further comment about "Most likely we'll get prettier version of CK2 with less content" I'm not surprised that you didn't understand that.

"The point is to discover the new game mechanisms by myself." would work if you are assuming that would be something new, worth of discovery. I wouldn't argue against it, most likely CK3 would have some new interesting mechanics, but I don't want to charge blindly and trust devs who didn't really earn the trust with the latests games and DLC polices in general, which is dealbreaker for me. So yeah, I would prefer to learn from others mistakes and to be informed before making any purchases.

First you argued my decision not to read dev diaries wouldn't make sense because it isn't a story based game and now it's about how you wouldn't want to go into a game blindly?
Sorry, but I do love to discover my options. I'll reach the phase where I know anything about the game mechanics and how to exploit them soon enough, I don't need to get there via express by reading all the details before I even managed to play the game. Thank you.

oh you are the dense one, I see
I started with "storybased arguement", cause it's general, then I add my personal arguement....as you mentioned.
I don't get why are you sorry, nor why are you thanking me. Is this some kind of passive-aggressive behavior?! Also I wouldn't find "knowing what is new" to be the same as "knowing everything about how new mechanics works".

And I don't see how going blindly is discovering options. Anyway, you do you. Hope you'll enjoy it.

Since Paradox doubled down on their business model of DLC mayhem and the usual time releases need to be patched once they launch (goes for most developers). I'll be waiting for a discount before buying it. I still have CKII to keep me busy in the meantime. Its looking good though.

As to what I'll play: Earliest date and a rather autonomous/insignificant ruler so I can try and make something out of nothing. I usually enjoy those playthroughs more than just grabbing a kingdom or empire.

Quality of Paradox strategies deteriorated immensely since CK2. EU4, Stellaris, HoI4 were each one worse than the last.
So I guess I'm borderline between "wait for a bundle" and "not interested at all".

I absolutely love CK II, and I look forward to playing CK III in 2-3 years.

I really loved Paradox games and i bought every one dlc for lots of their games, but i really was disappointed with HOI4 and Imperator Rome... maybe i will buy CK3 if its not to casual and a bit polished.

I'm always suprised in myself about how much time I can pour into games like CK. I'm very interested in playing CK3 but since I'm cheap, I'll probably wait for a good discount before purchasing. Plus, I'm still not 'done' with CK2, lol XD

I've always meant to dig into CK2, but every time I try I end up putting it down as there is more information than I know what to do with! I might try to pick it up again and see if I can get a bit farther. Although, the ~$300 cost of all the DLC that has come out since I first got the game is a bit of a turnoff for me (yes, I know I don't need the DLC...I'm already overwhelmed without the DLC. I can't imagine adding in a ton of more options, etc, through the DLC!)

I'm not going to buy it any time soon for a simple reason. When I got ck2, in 2 weeks I put nearly 100 hours in it. It was too much. I have to stop myself, and prevention is a good way to do so XD

I'll probably get it eventually during a summer or Christmas sale, I'm satisfied with CK2 for now and am perfectly willing to wait a bit for the inevitable bug patches and first few DLCs to be released.

When I do get it, I'll probably play Brittany first. It's the first place I played in CK2 and I've had a soft spot for it ever since.

Crusader Kings 2 is my most played game on Steam but it only shows I have 568 hours into it. It's closer to 600+ hours really, which makes me still a noob haha.

Preordered CK3 in July, 2nd game I've preordered in 5 years. I've followed nearly all of the previews and dev diaries, and seen a few streams.

I'll probably just start with tutorial Ireland as usual.

I just had started to get into CK2 so I guess Mumu is the way to go in CK3 as well? Idk, maybe wait for a discount first. Not a high priority for me, but am definitely watching the game. If the reviews are too tempting, I might buy it early.
