i turned idling off, so it runs full at all times and i keep high requirment games running all nnight long for the whole month so it cant idle even if it could

No, your GPU don't run at full power if there is no load on there...

trust me the games i play require full load lol and i monitored my computer with an electricity monitor while it was under full load then added up for a month if it stayed on full load, came to 5 bucks a month

now if it did idle, it would cost even less

Friend, if you can't be bothered to learn about this stuff, or you can't figure out what the words mean, you're just going to get scammed out of your 0.01 BTC next month anyway.

Or gamble it away like I did...

At least I still have my 35k XRP... What ever good they will ever be...

There is very large amount of good information, but if one can't take the effort to read part of it, they shouldn't try mining...

It's 2013, no one really mines nowadays. Try joining a mining pool but still the gains are minimal

It's 2013, big boys have ordered their ASICs some have gotten them...

114... But to get the block you need lot of work... And thus it's not profitable without very cheap electricity or specialized hardware

That's not much when it takes you months to mine a single bitcoin.

As others have said, it's really not viable today unless you have ASIC hookups or receive free electricity.

It's useless unless you get a dedicated brute force machine now, and I don't mean lots of graphics cards in sli/crossfire. These days people have moved onto dedicated hash solving machines.

Way to produce cryptographic distributed currency know as bitcoin...

This actually explains nothing... But I read and saw a video about bitcoins... A waste of time. Go outside, find a work in a field, and you can get more money, but with the hard way. But I don't think any human would prefer that way... Too special beings...

One explanation...

Might be the future currency, might not be... Anyway it's questionable if jumping in is profitable anymore atleast on mining side...

From what I understand, BitCoin is an open source virtual currency and banking system. There will be only 21 million BitCoins in the world, the supply will never increase, therefore there is no inflation and people feel like it might be a good safe haven to store your money, especially when your country's government is retarded and is printing dollar bills like crazy.

BitCoin mining was an incentive for people to start hosting the BitCoin software. Basically, you install the software and your computer will start processing/approving BitCoin transactions all over the world. At the beginning there were 0 BitCoins in circulation and the people who started hosting the servers had good chances of earning BitCoins in exchange for the hosting they provided. Now it is harder to mine because a lot of BitCoins have already been created and as more and more BitCoins get created, it gets harder and harder to mine a new one. When the total BitCoin supply has reached it's ultimate goal of 21 million. BitCoin mining will stop and most likely move on to a small transaction fee.

As a lot of people already pointed out, the prime BitCoin mining days are over and now it's very hard to make a profit. The only people that still get something out of this have specialised hardware and free electricity.

Also, I've never used BitCoins but I hear it's a good way of exchanging currency when travelling. For example, you could buy BitCoins with your USD and sell them for some Euros. This way you avoid the exchange fee.

Unless you were an early adopter, you are wasting time and money.

Like everyone already said, it's too late for random gpu mining person to make any money doing this. You need a time machine, and free electricity.

It's like that Metro: Last Light for $0.01 from Best Buy. Too late, it's gone. Mining with a pc, don't waste your time. :)

Probably if you chose the right altcoin for right time there might be something there. But it's more of gambling...

I tried it back then when it was a new thing (electricity is damn cheap in my country), but I didn't like the way it stressed my GPU.

I regret it now

Please listen to the kind advice here and don't try. If you want to know, try Wikipedia or google. :)

Hitchhiker's guide to bitcoins:
Step 1: get a bitcoin client – the oficial one
Step 2: get a program called "guiminer" (or some alternative)
Step 3 (optional): join a pool – higher chance to actually get some bitcoins, they should have instructions on their website (http://mining.bitcoin.cz/ is pretty good pool)
Step 4: wait a year
Step 5: questionable profit, you have just spent so much money and effort for 1 BTC, congratz
TL;DR: Don't mine bitcoins, it's a waste of time and electricity.

You don't. You invest when the price is low and hope it goes up. Mining is pointless.

Step 1: Put down $20000+ for a ASIC miner

Step 2: Join a mining pool/.

Step 3: Waste hundreds of dollars of electricity to recoup losses on buying the miner/electricity costs

Step 4: Die profitable

*You can always buy a cheaper ASIC miner...
