What game should I buy?

I am having the hardest time choosing between getting DayZ Mod or the stand alone. I get that the mod is cheaper and my friend is pressuring me into getting the mod, but the stand alone looks so new and shiny I can't decide. What do you all think is the better deal for me to get based on how much content each have and bugs and player count and future content and such? I don't even really know what the differences between the two are other then the stand alone is more polished. and this discussion will probably help other to so, give all your thoughts!

Edit: Well then i guess that settles it, i'll get the mod.... it's $5 atm anyways

The whole Arma collection was bundled, so you can probably get it for even cheaper. Maybe even have enough to get both.

Forget the standalone. It's very buggy and unfinished. Highly overpriced for what you get, in my opinion.

Its basically the full game you're paying for but a very early version of it

Indeed it is. You're better off with the mod, since you get the Arma game AND the full DayZ mod.
