I still like to watch some classics like Alien (all the movies, even if the first 2 are the ebst) and The Thing (the original by Carpenter), but also some action/comedy like the original Ghostbusters or Indiana Jones (only the original trilogy, the last one which came some years ago is quite "meh").
In a time where effects and CG are everywhere is good to go back to movies where ideas and atmosphere felt more "handcrafted".

After Hours: Martin Scorsese makes a bizarre comedy about a man having a very bad night

Bump! What about Night Watch (and its sequel Day Watch)? Both are on Netflix now.

Have you ever seen Memento? It's not night-themed, but I'd say that it's best watched during the quiet, peaceful hours of the night so your brain can devote all of its resources to the task. It's the kind of movie that requires concentration to process it.

Sometimes I think it would be easier if people just shared their trakt.tv accounts. ;)
If they had a group function like Steam, you could have stuff like "SG's most seen / highest rated movies" etc.
I think I'll suggest them to introduce that right now. :D

Just here to say that the recommendations you have are awesome already (Nightcrawler came first into my mind, I love eg Mullholland Drive, Memento, The Thing, Blade Runner, Dark City, The Machinist...) Many of my favorite movies listed, people have good taste. Some more adds from me:
In the mood for love
Lost Highway
30 days of night
Gone Girl

If you like horror movies:
REC, takes place in a single night on a quarantined building. It has an american version, Quarantine, but the original is better.
Darkness (my sister in law had trouble going to dark places for a couple of weeks after seeing this one)

Birdman has plenty night/nightlife scenes. Also is high on the scale of mindfuck..

Hi SG community,
Hope you are having a goud day, nothing stressful.
Well, gaming is fun and all, but I am spending quite some time here and then some on Steam.
I do want to take some time off of Steam and utilize some of that time and watch cool movies instead, and this would be at night time.
So, do you have suggestions for any movies? Especially, those hhat have a night theme or even just those that are more enjoyable to watch at night for a good hour and halT, or so?
For me, night time is definitely the time to enjoy movies, what better if they have a theme to go along with the "night time" ?
ex- Arrival (2016) ?
Thankx for reading and recommendations in advance, just keep them up to 2 or 3 max. It would not be right if you give me 10 great movies, and it takes me a lonD time to watch them!
Sorry, my spelling is not great ;(

[Solution- If you read the above text carefully, you would notice I have made some spelling errors. This is intentional, of course, and hinted clearly by the text at the end in italics. Combining the error letters will lead you to the 1st giveaway. So, the giveaway code would have been uhTxD ]
I am not looking for horror/comedy per se, but here is a quick list of awesome suggestions (what you are thinking of might already be here :)
I thank everyone who has come up with the above recommendations!
