Well, it is going to be released in about a month and some weeks, so wait.

I dunno. It could just be that they're waiting until AC4 has been released; Watch_Dogs is another 14+ days after that.

Whoa! You're from the future, when the game has come out and people have actually played it? That's so awesome! :D
Tell me, how long did the USG stay shut down? Was ACIV as glitchy as ACIII? And is Thor: The Dark World worth seeing?

Have to agree with you. Lately some games have been getting such an undeserved hype behin them. It blows my mind. This, GTA V, Final Fantasy XIV, and so on.

Ubi games tend to show up late for pre-order on Steam to increase the other digital pre-orders (Uplay), imo. AC4 showed up just today, I'll still have some hope towards getting Watch Dogs as well pretty soon, unless Ubi have plans to do something like EA did with new games and Origin. Even tho, I don't see a point releasing AC4 and not releasing Watch Dogs on Steam. I'd count that WD will show up as well, just will need some time.

I know right, if only every publisher had their own PC specific platform so that we would have to have 20 different clients to play our games. I mean, god forbid we/consumers would like to be able to have everything in one place with easy to reach access and a simple set of username and passwords that have already been set up right?
I mean, I guess it would be like having physical steamworks games on a shelf in your room, while you have say ubisoft games on a shelf in the living room, and EA games on a shelf in the dinning room. Yes, doesnt take much effort to get up, leave the room and walk to the next room to fetch your game, but damn would it be nice and convenient to have it all in the same room wouldnt it?

or god forbid we be able to just use games we own drm free and not have to deal with a clunky useless client. How would we ever play games without some annoying integrated chat, or earn badges from achievements, or not have a profile on which to display those badges.

(while you're up walking between shelves grab me a copy of halflife on uplay will you? I don't want more than one client as i apparently must have one anway I'd like to keep it to a minimum)

Its probably cause in order to release the game on steam, they have to pay valve a cut.
I've heard this can be as much as 30% for small publishers, but the point is that its probably more value for them to release on their in-house system uplay which doesn't take a percentage hair cut.

Yes, I am aware, however, you could argue that the gained share releasing on Uplay is less then the amount gained by the additional sales from releasing it on steam. Uplay is by far the worst of the top 3. Even the Origin client is shaping up, shame EA doesnt follow though.

Steam or gtfo, I don't care if I still have to launch uplay to play the game. I want the game on Steam.

I bought Splinter Cell Blacklist on Steam for having every game in the same place, sure it open the Uplay client, but the focus around the Uplay client is far less with the Steam version. I'm really hoping that Watch_Dogs will get released at Steam. Might just be a matter of time before it pops up.
Also, the Steam version does not need the weird updating from Uplay, on the Steam platform everything gets updated without hassle (and is not using a disc-type of installer).

I don't think so, you still need to close Uplay after, which is not much different from adding it as non-steam game. its only one click away which is button Play. So 2 seconds difference and that sometimes needs to be clicked on, even for steam version when I hit play still need to hit play on Uplay after
