Trails in the Sky is nothing like Disgaea. It's a great game. But the only thing that's similar between the two is the turn-and-grid-based combat.

FFTA/A2 came out on nintendo handhelds though, so running those is extremely easy. FFT for ps1 isn't particularly hard, either. Getting a psp emulator running well on the other hand.........

Final Fantasy Tactics is actually on PSP (FFT War of the lions), I defo recommend it, along with Valkyria Chronicles 2, amazing games

Emulation is your friend, NIS/NISA have yet to really touch the PC community. If you're desperately looking for that Nippon Ichi Software touch, I'd consider Cladun X2. It may not be turn based and it's made by System Prisma as opposed to NIS, but it's still a good game. Agarest and Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky are definitely the closest to Disgaea in terms of gameplay though.
I do recommend looking into some of the Spiderweb Software games though, they are all grid based rpgs. They're very old as far as their design is structured though, so you might not enjoy them.

Yeah, I played Cladun X2 and it's a great game! Spiderweb Software's games donn't look encouraging so it looks like I'm forced to do some emulations; thanks for the advise!

No they change it now is completely f2p, before it was like dofus you need it to pay to lvl more fast and get to other zones even to get profession. they have a cash shop, but I haven't checked it yet

The Banner Saga is a fantastic game, but a total opposite of Disgaia.
What makes Disgaia is a crazy universe with insane characters, while The Banner Saga is 100% serious and grim.
