If you have a friend you REALLY trust, that knows how sales work, give him your account and put all the games you want on your wishlist. You won't get all the games you might want, but at least if the games you have on your wishlist go on sale your friend can buy them...

Recent AAA games won't go below 60%... I aim 20%, maybe 33%... But older ones (like more than 6 months) will probably get a 50% discount, or more...

Why not just trade for them on Steamtrades after anyway? You can get them for cheaper prices from foreign sellers often enough, and the lowest sales price tends to be the asking rate there. Hell, Tropico 5 is going for a single TF2 key from one seller.

CD-key traders, recalling the games from your library because compromised credit card etc. Good luck with buying Tropico 5 for 1 TF2 key. Yes you can get games much cheaper but there are also some scammers and if they sell games cheaper than the biggest sale that has ever been + RU/CiS or Brazilian pricing then prepare to be scammed!

this is no pricing error. you have to activate a 4pack for him. thats why you only need to pay 1 key. he still makes profit by selling the remaining 3 copies for 10-11 keys. this guy bought like 10000 4packs and reduced the price for unpacking over and over again. i guess he expected to sell them faster. xD

Yeah, exactly this. I don't know how many people out there would be interested in Tropico 5 after all the reopenings have already been jumped on, but I wish them all the best. I picked it up for 2 keys--obviously should have waited a bit.

Besides that, there are foreign sellers with mounds of positive feedback from CD-key and Steam gift sales. Just go through them if concerned with scamming, although I've never once encountered that in hundreds of trades. I never looked back at the Steam store after finding that trading site, since the going rates are always so much lower than the normal pricing on Steam, even from just regular joes with copies of the games. I don't see any comparison, but to each their own, it takes all kinds, etc. etc.
