You don't need to spend any penny to get it free. All you need is joining Amazon Prime 30 days free trial and you will be joined to Twitch Prime automatically. After claiming games you can just unsubscribe Amazon Prime service.

Amazon Prime still has a free trial, however only for new accounts and new addresses. If they detect that you already have an Amazon Prime account or that you tested Amazon Prime for 30 days before, it won't work. There is a workaround, but I won't post any details about it.

It's just something that a lot of people might already have, because of Amazon Prime. If you're a Student, then you had a 6 month free trial, you get this, and a lot of people just use Amazon Prime anyway, because of the delivery service, Amazon Video, or Amazon music. I wouldn't view this as "Subscribe just for this", but more as another little bonus.
