Uguuu~! Sunday's Trivia Night for Trivia Knights may be the best one yet, for our prize is one that I have put up, no sponsors this time, so I don't feel compelled to make the questions fair, this will be brutal.
This week the prize of Magical Drop V is on the line. It will be taking place in the same chat room it always does, the only chat room that is linked at the bottom of the site. 6 PM Eastern Standard Time, like last week, and so many weeks before.
The theme is Magical Girls, so you will have to brush up on topics past and present in the far reaching field of magical girldom.
Can you believe we've done 26 of these? 26 of the best odds for prizes a person can get on the site, not too bad for what was initially a hack-job means to entertain the 20 or so regulars that were whining about being bored the first time. My, how far we've come.
After this week's Magical Drop V, we have a copy of Condemned via GoJays with a theme of crime, a copy of Sine Mora via me, and a pledge of something wonderful via SakataKun... So we're doing well for the next month in prizes.
Please refrain from being in a game during trivia this week, I am hoping to make it easier to spot when I have called the correct answer, by having only the Trivia Master in green and everyone else in blue. This is being done because my other way of making sure participants know the answer has been called is to block chat, which many find to be disruptive to their actual chatting. So it's a trade off, but as long as everyone isn't a moron, it works alright.
As has become a normal part of our weekly trivia, there are two classes of answer to a question, The Right One™, an answer which is a cut above, and a question that is correct. Getting The Right One™ will net you two points if you come in first, or, if you're within a very close time of the normal answer, you'll get a point.
As an example:
12:16 PM - chronicdiscord: We all know the Grimace is a citizen of McDonaldland, but what was he when originally introduced?
12:16 PM - Deirü: Alive.
12:16 PM - Judge Jade: An evil villain
12:17 PM - MMRhino: He was a fast food worker
12:17 PM - cg: an insect-like villain that stole milkshakes
Now, here we see cg giving The Right One™, but after Jade gave one that worked... What happens here is that both Jade and cg get a single point, had cg's come in first, he would have gotten both points.
There is also the possibility of multiple correct answers for some questions, so the first two correct ones get the points.
The top ten scoring participants will be given a link to the private giveaway.
In the event of low scoring players having a tie, we will run a small elimination round to ensure we only have 10 entries for the giveaway. If anyone else answers, correctly or falsely, in this time, it's a ban, we don't want anyone mucking up Trivia Night.
No Spamming, you spam, we kick, you spam again, we ban. Only one answer per minute per person, anything else will be considered spam, and ignored for a split second. This is based on the Trivia Master's screen and what their timestamps say. There is no other way around this, it's harsh, but it's the best we can do.
The first to answer gets the point, based on what the Trivia Master sees, you complain, we ban, and no, there will be no kick step on this. You may request a recheck, no one's eyes are perfect, but don't go moaning about being pingfucked, that's not cricket.
If you complain about the questions, you get kicked without warning. There have been way too many Trivia Nights where we see nothing but people saying, "ask more questions about things I know!" You are missing the point and you are being incredibly rude to the people asking the questions and putting up the prizes.
The Trivia Master will block all chatting, unblock, then ask the question, then you answer, this prevents people from complaining about anyone getting a head start with their answers and gives you all a clear sign that the question is incoming.
If you can play by these rules, then you can join us for Trivia Night, a weekly event that has been running for quite some time, and everyone should have at least heard of it at this point, right? Right?
