Ever heard of the game?
I completely missed that BF5 is already out. I am mainly interested in raytracing benchmarks. If that's already implemented, BF5 would be the first game to (finally!) support RT.

Thanks for promoting the game. Haven't heard about it before, but now wishlisted it ;)

Saw this in my queue today and wishlisted it. Looks good. I enjoy Valiant hearts as well. I think it's sad that in my lifetime the last of the WWI veterans have died out. When I was young there were still many left alive. It feels like our connection to that big part of history is now just stories, and increasingly more it will become the realm of fantasy made for entertainment. (I'm looking at you Battlefield 1)

I've came across this game sometime ago and they were promoting with Elijah Wood. I believe Elijah Wood was at E3, was it for this game? Maybe. What worries me is actually the graphics of the game. It might look extremely beautiful for a PC with good GPU and a good monitor that is sharp? Why do I say this? This because not everyone will enjoy/appreciate the Blurry effect that makes this game dreamy.
I am not surprised if sales target are not met. I've recently had the chance to play a well-painted Survival RPG Smoke and Sacrifice. There are simply too many good indies out there and without flashy graphics and gameplay most of Steam player base seems to neglect these games. Of course there are exceptions like Dont Starve which is very replayable.
Like @eternalhate13 mentioned its too expensive for a short story with fancy graphics and fancy voice acting. Although I do find it reasonable at my local price of $20 for an indie, graphically appealing to me, also famous voice actors. However, most of these reasons dont really matter to most of the gaming base imo.
Kudos to you for garnering attention for the game. Best wishes to you! Cruse~ :D

That's the old debate. Many think a game needs to deliver a long experience, while I personally think the length is not important as long as it's high quality. But I understand both standpoints. I can understand if someone questions why he should pay 25€ for a 5 hour game when he could just buy a 1 year old 50 hour open world title for half the price. I just personally feel I got my money's worth with this one, and I value this experience more than 50 hours of running and generic quests (and I say this having recently finished AC: Odyssey after 70 hours ^^). I think both opinions are valid, and I just hope this games find enough buyers, so we can get another one. :)

Indeed. I just hope the company understands the dynamics nowadays and do not expect to reach sales at launch. Sadly many games/companies thought so especially when they have big names voice acting in their titles. I think recently the title Where the Water Tastes Like Wine High expectations but sales were poor on launch. Hopefully, the magic of Frodo Baggins can prove otherwise. :D
Personally I do look into replayability if I am going to pay full price/close to full for a game. Such titles will be on the wishlist for a bundle or better deals.

Everybody's different. I couldn't care less about replayability. In the last 10 years I think I only ever replayed one game (Ori and the Blind Forest). I usually prefer to go to the next game instead of playing a game again. I even have a bad habit of switching to the next game when I am not even finished with the current one. That's something I recently tried to work on (by keeping track of the games I beat and use that list as some sort of motivation). But actually replaying a game - no, won't happen. ;)

I always replay the games I enjoy alot. I usually enjoy more of the strategy titles. Sometimes just to sit down and pause in the game. I guess its a character kind of thing. I'm not too much into action games but I am more accepting to them. Playing RPGs gives me headaches and nauseous so I didn't play them often but I do plan to play them more in future.
Recently after seeing much shovelware and a growing Steam Library I thought, "A good game deserves to be replayed more than trying out a game you think might be good." Especially playing "Journey To The Center Of The Earth", I remove it from my Steam library and decided to only get games I feel I will play. Even simple time simulators, puzzles, HoGs are better XD
Cheers~

Now that you mention it - there is one big exception to what I said. I used to play Colonization (the old one) over and over again. Started in 1994, just stopped a few years ago. I must have played it hundreds of times. But that's really the only singleplayer game I can think of that I replayed constantly and would even play again today.
I agree with your second statement. I just feel even despite all the shovelware there are so, so many good games to play. And not nearly enough time. So I'd rather play a new game instead of one I played already.

Sid Meier's Colonization! That's a very Old one, I've not even played it don't think I will in future either although it has rave reviews. I am keen on getting my hands on CIV II - Call to Power. I remember playing it with their oversized Trade-Icons and the animated Trade-Lines. I actually quite enjoyed it. XD
What I like about strategy games is that like CIV III, I usually play Chieftain the easiest Lvl, I like to dominate, I like to build every building, every Wonder owned by my Civilization. I like to take my time placing my cities and maximizing the city resources, Much like a game of Chess. Its how you play and how you enjoy the game. Rather than just winning, I am looking for that comfort zone where my play is something else. :D
I check the Steam Queue often and as I watch Streams I try to note down interesting games/titles. Estimating the number of games of the genres I like and will play, there are hundred of games. If I count the games I'll probably try with mixed reviews, it goes to more than a Thousand. I really do not find a need for shovelwares to pile on titles whether its indie or not and this much shovelwares brings down the price for quality games imo. As perception is there is so many games around, it does not worth that much. However if we look at the quality for the game and actual gameplay. It might worth more just that personally, I will not take the plunge unless I really wanted to play it badly. One example is Monster Hunter, I've heard great reviews for the PS4 but the PC port is bad. For me its worth more to play on PS4 than PC.

Don't get me started on Monster Hunter. Good game, not so good port. It's very playable, don't get me wrong. But what makes me furious is the lack of 21:9 support, after they took like 7 months to optimize the PC version. And they release patch after patch, which always breaks the user patch for at least a few hours, if not 1-2 days. The fact that we even need a user patch is ridiculous enough. A modern AAA game should always be properly developed with different aspect ratios in mind.

Hahaha, I am sorry. I did not know you're one of those affected. Sometimes I think its more of an intended flaw than not. As I mentioned, I have developed the mentality of it being worth more to play on PS4 than PC. That way Sony will not lose their player base, yet at the same time, they can satisfy a crowd hungry for the game to be on PC. Like you mentioned, an AAA game like MHW should not have such issues especially a successful launch on PS4 just a few months ago. Cheerios~

I added the game to my wishlist the other day. It does look like an amazing game. Of course, I still have to play The Fidelio Incident that you recommended the last time!;)
I upvoted your review and your screenshot (which looks cool, sort of haunting actually).:)

Thanks! :)
Oh, you definitely should. The Fidelio Incident was great. Really nice voice acting.

I want to raise awareness for the game 11-11 Memories Retold, as I fear this might get mostly unnoticed. There are barely any Steam reviews yet, and the forum is not too crowded either. Which is a shame, as this game is really beautiful. It tells a story of two people who are dragged into the Great War for different reasons, as enemies. And when they meet, they become friends. The Canadian is spoken by Elijah Wood, the German by Sebastian Koch. It's a very well made game and really deserves some visibility. I hope at least some of you guys check it out, and maybe a few give it a chance and buy it. It would be sad to see this fail, as it does so many things right. It is a touching story with likeable characters in a harsh world. With great voice acting, an interesting art style and beautiful transitions between the two main characters when they are not together. I really enjoyed it, and I am sure some of you will have the same experience.
I can highly recommend this to anyone who loves a good story in a video game. It's easily worth the money, and I hope enough people will agree with me, so that we can get a second Memories Retold game at some point (they hinted this in the credits).

My Review
I also would greatly appreciate if you upvoted this screenshot of mine. As I really would like to thank the devs for doing proper 21:9 letterboxing, which really not a lof of games do (can only think of Dishonored 2 and Shadow Warrior 2 in the last 2-3 years). And getting this screenshot to the top is hopefully one way of achieving that.
