Awesome, wasn't aware of this. Thanks for the heads-up! :)

Hope its an improvement over the original, unlike what they did to the sequel. Had a difficult time getting the original Darksiders II after they pulled it from Steam in favor of the much more poorly optimized 'Deathinitive Edition'.

So is this. Both Darksiders titles were originally published by THQ, whilst the remasters were published by Nordic.

THQ hasn't existed for years.
Nordic bought most of THQ's assets and effectively THQ & Nordic are now the same company. Thus renamed to THQ Nordic.
But EA still has rights to publish and controls sales of original Bulletstorm and may not be interested in handing it's control of it. (But Epic owns IP)

The existence of THQ is irrelevant, especially in consideration of Deathinitive Edition as Nordic didn't re-brand to THQ Nordic till almost a year after it's release and even then only because THQ was a significantly more recognizable brand.
So whilst THQ Nordic may now publish both versions of both games it doesn't change the fact that THQ as their original publisher were a separate entity. Nordic (THQ or otherwise) didn't see any money from sales of the franchise before they acquired it. Remasters are a relatively cheap/easy way for a company to see a return on investment before investing significantly more time/money into a full game.Nordic have additionally stated that these remasters are a way to gauge interest before a new game.
Another example would be Adam's Venture. The individual episodes were published by Iceberg Interactive. Soedesco Publishing then acquired the franchise, pulled the individual episodes and released Chronicles, a remaster that combined the three together. Eventually owners of the episodes received a free upgrade to Chronicles. They then further released a remake, Origins.

It's relevant, because It's not just about whatever they want to give free copy, but it's something that EA also would've to agree to, and they might not want to.
One could argue it could be lost sale for EA, as in they might skip EAs latest FPS shooter, because they got Bulletstorm HD for free to play.
And while THQ got money from initial sales, they also paid for development too. Nordic just bought assets and has sold game as theirs since.

You stated change in publisher meant a given remaster being free for existing owners was less likely and whilst that's ultimately true I've shown it isn't always the case.
As far as Bulletstorm goes the remaster is being published by Gearbox and not EA so they aren't getting any sales anyway.

less likely mean it's possible.
Yes, EA won't likely get anything out of Bulletstorm HD sales, means it's their direct competitor (or it can be perceived as one), which makes it less likely for EA to help.
It doesn't mean it's impossible, but there's more work to do.
Hell, It isn't even out of question that EA would try to prevent re-release, depending on contracts.

I hope this means the game will no longer crash at launch for me. P

I alt-tab a lot while playing, and games that doesnt allows the window mode tends to crash a lot... the thing is that i didnt know that if the game crash, you have to restart steam, because if you get some achievement it wont show it... http://steamcommunity.com/id/EsEsama/stats/Darksiders/?tab=achievements I cleared the game but i miss some achievements, like killing Stigian o.o

Yeeaah, I need to play them both again, they're great games.

Launching a remastered edition for a game, the previous owners get it for free, and for the non-owners the price continues the same as the base game.
This is how you do it Bethesda (and such).
Unfortunately I can't buy it atm but for the next sale I sure hope i'm getting it
