A friend asked me what's better Steamgifts or Galagiveaways? What do you guys think? or what are they both missing?

P.S. I don't work for any of them just asking... I want more ammo to tell my buddy which is better.

Indiegala is where you go if you want bundle scraps. Steamgifts is superior in just about every way.

There are a lot of bundle leftovers here, as well.

Steamgifts is the best steam giveaway sites I have seen so far. Galagiveaways point system is stupid, the multiple enter ability is also stupid, without mentionen the quality of games given away...
Playblink is the one closer to steamgifts, but still the point regeneration is pretty slow, and if you dont have a high level (= donate), you can enter in just some giveaways that are mostly bad games.

Playblink is P2W. Which is fine, in and of itself. But I feel like calling their paid giveaway status "Charity Member" is a bit disingenuous.
If you're Level 1, you'll have the opportunity to win about two non-bundle games per week.
At least GameMiner is upfront about their system.

Gala is more or less a knockoff of sg.
This looks familiar to this?

I prefer Gala because you can give Desura and Origin keys, but not many people create giveaway there. Hopefully it will grow.
Point system also better than CV in my opinion, but doesn't regenerate unless you join Refill, unlike Steamgifts.
There's no reroll button, there's no extra rules, you can join any giveaway (even you already have the game) as long as you have points and feedback (number of valid giveaway you create).

Plus a lobby chat below.

Actually, you have feedback giveaways there, which you can only get feedback through giving away games successfully. There aren't many feedback giveaways there though, but when good games do pop up, you bet they'll probably be feedback GAs.

gala does have cv giveaways, last i was there it was lousy with extra rules(poker on everything?) and the point system is why its so broken

yeah the thing I don't like about the SG is that if you have the game you can't enter. But I understand why... Playblink is interesting.... yeah the point system for gala you can get a lot. But I do like the poker and extra points X. If it gives you a better chance to win

Actually, unless they changed it, they have that same rule on GalaGiveaway. They just don't really enforce it.

Why would you even need/want to enter a giveaway for a game you already have??

Steamgifts rules say you can't either. Why are you trying to win a game you've already got =P

For me, GG doesn't even come close to being on par with SG. But, I guess it comes down to personal preference.

I like both, but I have to say I have had more luck with GA than SG. Same for GM, I have had more luck with both GA and GM than here but I keep trying.

3 - Playblink
4 - Galagiveaways
5 - Tremorgames (I work and have kids so I don't really have time for that crap)

Galagiveways has an horrible design and little to no real community. IT started somewhat big but it quickly dwindled down to a few bundle games being given away there. It's a good place to get Desura games as well as the occasional Origin bundle game.

Only ever really tried SG properly.

I do have an account on Gala, after trying to help a friend who isn't too good with English sign-up and enter giveaways. He needed help understanding it so I thought the best way would be to sign up myself. Lol, I had problems as well, and it took a while before I figured out the registration process.

I entered 1 giveaway and left it at that. Didn't really like the look of it or the number of games/the quality of games on offer, nor the different types of giveaways with extra odds, poker etc. Thought they were unnecessary and a bit gimicky.

Maybe it's 'cause I was used to SG rules and whatnot, and I was conditioned to them, but I thought it was kind of shady in comparison as well. I was getting the impression that they didn't really care what you did in comparison to this place. That might be a plus for some, but I just wasn't feeling it.

Its been the same for me. I have won:

0 on SG,
1 on companion,
5 on miner,
6 on gala

And I have been a member of all about the same amount of time. I like the look and feel of SG just haven't been lucky yet.

Steamgifts has a better community and is fairer. GG was fun when it started out, and it got me hooked when the Witcher was the first game I won - I mean really. :D It was easy to win in the first months too. But now... meh. It's nice for Desura games, and I don't mind winning those. But after finding SG it really feels like it's been thrown together pretty haphazardly. Not to mention very few people gift anything more then untradable bundle leftovers now. Wasn't that way in the beginning.
