I recently bought some new hardware, and it comes with promotional games - Resident Evil 4 and Jedi Survivor. I have already played RE4, and haven't seen star wars, so I thought it would be nice to give these games away.

However, the store where I purchased the hardware from says "Please note: Key must be activated from the system with the AMD component installed." -- which makes it sounds like only the computer with the components can play the game?

The AMD page says "Some AMD Rewards promotions require that the qualified AMD product is installed in the participant’s system and verified before the game activation code can be issued." -- Which makes it sound like you need the hardware to get the key, but then you can do with the jkey what you like afterword.

Does anyone know? Can I give these games away on SG?

Yes, of course!
No way!
I don't actually know, but I like clicking the button.

If it just gives you a Steam key then yea, go for it, just make sure it's not region restricted.

Nice looking build! You should give Jedi Survivor a go, I played the first one and had a blast. Haven't got around to getting and playing the new one but I expect it to be as good. I think you can enjoy the gameplay without being a Star Wars fan.

Thank you! I guess I should try, maybe I'll play the first one before deciding whether to give away the second or not. It's a shame I can't put them in a GA though where I know someone would like it.

Beauty!! That looks awesome! I think I ended up spending an extra $200 or so making sure all the pieces were white, but I think it's worth it. I like you're black and white scheme too, though!!

usually that qualification is to get the key, not activate it(as forcing a hardware check on key activation isn't to simple).
makes it harder for people to buy the hardware, swipe the keys for the games and return them getting usually 2 AAA games for the cost of gas to and from.

Diablo 4 Gift with Nvidia forced a Hardware Check. And it you didn't had a 40X0 installed the code didn't activate.
You had to activate the code on Geforce Experience, and link a battle account to it, and meet the hardware requirement to activate the code (and the code was also region locked).

that was likely supported thanks to blizzard, going to be harder to get valve to do it.

Yes, if you have the key you can do whatever you want with that key.

You can give away the key for STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor, but is not a Steam key, so you cannot create a giveaway with it here on SG. I don't know the process for Resident Evil 4 or where it activates.

Follow the link they send you and it will have you download software that will verify the AMD product is in your computer and then they will give you a key to activate. It took a couple weeks to get my key, but I think that was because the game wasn't released yet when I did it. You can give this key to someone else, but for STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor it activates on Origin.

Thanks! Also boo, I hate origin. I thought it shut down a few years ago? Oh well, I'm sure I can find someone to take it lol. Thanks for the info!!

It "shut down" a couple months ago... Well. The Origin brand name got shut down, now it's "EA app".

Oh, they might have shut it down, I'm not sure. I don't think I have ever played a game through Origin. I activated the key on EA's website, so it is for whatever launcher they use now.

I had such reaward a few years ago (then they gave re3 and monster hunter world).
Back then, AMD equipment was required only to activate the reward, AMD equipment was required, but in order to get the game later, it was not necessary.
But it is important - the key itself was not given. The AMD account is linked to the Steam account and the game is activated through synchronization. I hope I made it clear.

The AMD text makes it seem like it doesn't give you a key :(

you can link the winner's account to get the game, after that you can unlink them from your AMDRewards acc.

but for that the winner would have to give jacqland their Steam login info? Not sure about you but I would never do that and also not sure if that is allowed to do here to be able for someone to get their gift.

or he can just throw away that AMD acc with one condition, change the email asap so he can get his mail back to register another one if needed
