I use mine with this and it works fine. You need a pc gaming receiver for the Xbox 360 version of the wireless controller. You can also just get a controller made for the pc.

... how could you possibly not need the receiver? You have to connect it to something... PCs don`t have anything that could be used for receiving pad signal... I think :D

Yeah I use my wireless Xbox 360 controller on my pc to play steam games, its really easy. I tried to do it without a receiver but I couldn't find a way, so I just got this receiver and got the drivers from Windows website, http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Wireless-Gaming-Receiver-Windows/dp/B000HZFCT2/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1364850512&sr=8-3&keywords=xbox+wireless+adapter

either of those should work and this is the way to get it too work

yeah, I'm pretty sure you need a receiver for the wireless version. Though if its the wired version, then......

I used to wire in my PS3 control with Motionjoy, but that driver package is way to shady. Now I'm looking for a cheap bluetooth adapter to hack to route the control instead :P

I used that too, but it was always giving me trouble. I recently bought a wired Xbox 360 controller and I'm really happy with it.

You need to connect it via receiver or USB. If not, happy April fools.
