I'm planning to buy C&C Ultimate Collection. but it's region-locked.

and so far, only castlevania is the only steam game that got region-locked in my country.

Wasn't that Origin, or does GMG have a collection including only the games in Steam?

This collection?

I know what you mean. I want it too, since my copies of Red Alert 1 and 2 are nowhere to be found, leaving me with only a couple of DOS only copies of the original C&C and a copy of Generals. Would love to get that for my own collection, even with Origin. At this point, I only have one game I play in it.

Unfortunately, even without the region lock, I just don't have the cash.

Original C&C and Red Alert 1 are freeware. I think there are some patches that make them work properly on newer systems and at higher resolutions.

I'm extremely positive that you can buy and activate it without any problems.

You can do whatever you want at your own risk with online retailers as far as we're concerned. It's the use of VPN to bypass region restrictions to purchase or activate games on Steam that concerns us, as that can put the user's Steam account in jeopardy, and we don't want unknowing users putting themselves in that situation.

I guess they are talking about the keys itself.
It is gmg itself who is blocking outsiders from the deal.

correct. They check your IP and send you to their regional shop site. And depending on your region they block some game. And for my region these are a lot nowadays. But when I bought games that are blocked now 1,5 years ago, the keys weren't region restrictited. ==> So site=yes, keys=no.
edit: look above, I might be wrong

That's an issue when you want to give away such keys... The creator of a giveaway I won gave me a key I could not activate and told me they refused to give him another one for my region.

I bought GTA collection from GMG, tried to activate it on my account and it was region locked. Used a VPN to activate with no problem.
